Like our AWE participants, we are excited for this new year!

Guided by the spirit of "Women Supporting Women," this new year, just like the official launching ceremony of the 2nd cohort of the AWE program in Cameroon, will be under the symbols of connection, collaboration, and celebration for the women entrepreneurs.

Flashing back to the official launching ceremony of the AWE program in Cameroon in November 2024, we recall how our selected AWE participants seized the opportunity to meet, showcase their unique products, and forge valuable relationships.

For this new year, the 2nd cohort will have even more opportunities to shine, grow, and impact their community. We are confident that this program will empower these women to achieve their full potential.

What an Inspiring Start!

The 2nd Edition of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Cameroon 2024 is here, and we are thrilled to welcome 40 extraordinary women to this prestigious exchange program!

The program kicked off with a remarkable official launching ceremony at Djeuga Palace, presided over by the U.S. Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires, John Robinson, in the presence of Isabelle Lafortune Makota, Director of Economic Promotion of Women in the Ministry of Women Empowerment and the Family, along with key partner organizations.

Candidates whose businesses ranged from business consulting firms, business incubators, and food processing to renewable energy, fashion, beauty and cosmetics, recycling, and other sectors proudly presented their products and services during the exhibition, which was visited by the delegation of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde and special guests.

Participants dived into an intensive 3-day training at the Mundi Complex in Nsimalen after the launch.

Let’s celebrate their incredible achievements and cheer them on as they start this transformative chapter!

The Grand Finale of a 6-Month Entrepreneurial Journey

Six months ago a group of 50 ambitious women embarked on a transformative journey. They were part of a program designed to nurture and cultivate their business ideas, turning them from mere concepts into viable ventures. As the curtain closes, our hearts are filled with a mix of emotions—pride, gratitude, and a touch of nostalgia. The Academy For Women Entrepreneurs- AWE program has been more than just a learning experience; it's been a journey of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment.

Our participants have showcased incredible resilience, creativity, and determination. They have faced challenges head-on, learned from setbacks, and celebrated every milestone, big or small. Powerful bonds have been forged, friendships made, mentorship received, and the collective spirit of support has been inspiring.

As we bid farewell to this first cohort, a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to continue championing women in entrepreneurship goes on. Whilst this chapter may be closing, the impact and legacy of AWE will live on in our hearts.
