⚽️️ Pink Kick October: Playing for Prevention, Hope, and Healing! 🩷

This October, we are kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Tiko with a special female football match: Healthcare Providers vs. Tiko Council & Community!

We are taking to the pitch to raise our voices, boost awareness, and kick breast and cervical cancer out of Tiko and Cameroon.
Cancer impacts far more than just health—it touches families, livelihoods, and entire communities. Beyond the excitement on the field, this event is dedicated to spreading vital, lifesaving knowledge on:
✨ Prevention of breast and cervical cancer
✨ The power of early detection
✨ Timely treatment and pathways to survivorship
We stand in deep solidarity with every individual currently battling cancer, honor the memories of those we have lost, and support the families walking through the tough challenges this journey brings. You are not alone. 🤝💕

I am deeply humbled, overwhelmed with gratitude, and honored to share that I have been named a recipient of the 2026 Dicey Scroggins Distinguished Advocate Award by the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) and the International Gynecologic Cancer Advocacy Network (IGCAN)!

To be recognized in honor of Dicey Scroggins, a true pioneer of fierce compassion, is a surreal and deeply emotional moment for me.

This recognition reinforces that advocacy is about relentless heart, breaking barriers, and showing up for the most vulnerable. It is proof that our local grassroots work resonates on a global stage.

This honor reflects a powerful collective effort: Our frontline Champions (Community leaders, health workers, and navigators) guiding women through every step of care.

Our courageous Voices ( Survivors, caregivers families, mentors, mentees, and global partners) who fuel this work daily.

From adapting educational tools to expanding life-saving screenings, this moment reminds us why we push forward. Disparities in gynecologic cancer care are real, but our resolve for health equity is stronger.

Thank you, IGCS, IGCAN, and the selection committee, for seeing our work, validating our mission, and inspiring us to keep going. Let's keep fighting, keep educating, and ensuring that no woman is left behind. 💪🏽❤️

Joining UICC's Patient Group Mentorship Programme (PGMP) has truly transformed our work at Humanity at Heart International in Cameroon!

In such a short period of time, this program has given us the tools to dream bigger and achieve more.
First, Humanity at Heart is now a member organisation of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) thanks to PGMP'..
Then, we have had opportunity to learn from Peers through the funded peer visit to Baheya Foundation which gave us the exact blueprint we needed to strengthen our community based Patient Navigation program, ensuring no cancer patient has to walk their journey alone.
Thanks to PGMP' s support, we were able to mobilize and bring together over 65 multisectoral key stakeholders (doctors, CHW, HCP, policymakers, and community leaders) to endorse and push for patient navigation to become an official, integrated part of standard cancer care in Cameroon during the WCD 2026.
We now connect with amazing organizations across the continent to share learnings and activity progress within our organisations through the PGMP monthly regional meetings.
And finally we were privileged to share lessons learned from peer visit during a joint virtual event with UICC PGMP and ACS BEACON Initiative- yet another incredible learning platform...

I have so much more to say but permit me for now to just say: I am so incredibly proud to be a part of UICC PGMP. Thank you to everyone at UICC for walking this path with us.

Cameroon Leads the Way: Turning the ACHA ASPIRE Cervical Health Scorecard into a National Blueprint- A Historic Milestone for Cervical Cancer Elimination!

We are in AWE of the incredible momentum building in Cameroon!

The ACHA Cameroon Team led by Humanity at Heart International (H@H) and supported by ERADICARE Health Foundation is in absolute AWE of the visionary leadership within the Ministry of Public Health. Through the National Cancer Control Committee (NCCC), led by the inspiring and dynamic Dr. Zeh Kakanou Florence , the government has not only truly embraced the ACHA ASPIRE Cervical Health Scorecard but is actively spearheading its implementation as a national priority with full speed!
While rapid data extraction from existing sources is a start, it isn't enough to reflect Cameron’s authentic data towards cervical cancer elimination progress. Under the leadership of Dr. Zeh and the NCCC, we are on a quest to transition from traditional data reporting to a gold-standard National Data Audit. This evolution ensures that the ASPIRE Scorecard captures the full, authentic reality of our health landscape, leaving no data unreported. From the most remote communities across our 10 regions to the critical contributions of the private sector, we are meticulously tracking HPV vaccination, screening, and treatment to ensure every Cameroonian woman is accounted for.

While ACHA CSOs facilitate the process and provide grassroots accountability, the Ministry of Health owns this roadmap. This high-level political will from the outgoing PS Prof. Nkegoum Blaise to the current leadership Dr Zeh, ensures that our pilot isn't just a report, but a verified, actionable reality for every woman. We are fueled up, mobilized, and leaving no stone unturned. The path to cervical cancer elimination in Cameroon is now illuminated!
The energy at our recent March 4th, validation workshop was palpable! We extend our deepest gratitude to the multi-sectoral ministries, international partners, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who turned out massively. This collective enthusiasm was instrumental in validating our country-context indicators, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with the WHO 90-70-90 global targets.
This indeed is an Advocacy Dream Realized!
Cameroon is more than ever on the quest for elimination. With a validated National Cervical Cancer Strategic Plan already in place and the ASPIRE Scorecard now in progress, we are seeing the very vision we have all been advocating for come to life. This is the moment where policy meets precision, and where government ownership meets grassroots passion.
Together, using the scorecard's traffic light accountability system, we are not just monitoring progress, we are accelerating it. The roadmap is clear, the political will is unwavering, and the elimination of cervical cancer in Cameroon is within our reach!

This February 4th, Humanity at Heart International joined the rest of the world to commemorate World Cancer Day under the global theme United by Unique .
Supported by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Patient Groups Mentoring programs (PGMP), Humanity at Heart leverage on this World Cancer Day to seek endorsement from over 65+ key stakeholders for the integration of a community led patient navigation program under the them Walk Bold Live strong campaign.
We had unique stories from breast and cervical cancer survivors, from government leaders including the Lord Mayor represented by his Deputy and General Secretary, the women empowerment sub divisional delegation, Youth sub delegate, Representation from the National Cancer Control Committee at the Ministry of Health, the regional delegate for public health Buea,the District Medical officer, Tiko, the chief medical officer for CDC, Religious leaders , health care practitioners, community health care workers...
This WALK BOLD LIVE STRONG Campaign started with a solidarity walk, and ended with a high policy level endorsement meeting for Humanity at Heart International 's community led patient navigation program at the Tiko Municipal hall
