1. *EFFORTS OF EX-STUDENTS & ANDEK COMMUNITY PAYOFF AS PHS REOPENS AFTER 10 YEARS*: After nearly a decade of closure due to the Anglophone crisis, Presbyterian High School Andek has reopened, with about *25 students* already enrolled and classes underway. The reopening follows sustained efforts by PANDEXSA, the Andek Cultural and Development Association, elites and the wider Andek community, led by a strong collective commitment to restore education in Andek. President *Asondo Richard* has welcomed the development as a major step forward. After 10 years, PHS Andek is alive again—and Andek has a new reason for hope.

" *HE PLANTED THE FETICH; NOT TO HARM ANYONE, BUT AS LAST RESORT TO LONGSTANDING INJUSTICE IN BONANYANG......"* - DISGRUNTLED US-BASED BONANYANG ELITE REACTS TO CLAIMS BY AGHARIH ASUMBA OF BONACUDA North America, in a momo worldwide documentary, that a member of their family planted fetich charms to harm, kill promoters of the Bonanyang facility project: Over the past three years, BONACUDA North America, bringing together Bonanyang sons and daughters in the USA and Canada, says it has mobilized resources worth over 40 million FCFA through its conventions and community initiatives. A major outcome is the construction of a multipurpose facility in Bonanyang, which the outgoing executive says is now about 90% complete, ahead of the transition to a new executive. However, the project has recently become the subject of controversy. In a documentary produced by Momo Worldwide, outgoing President *Agharih Asumba* spoke of an incident at the project site which he interpreted as a spiritual threat to his life and that of others, allegedly involving a member of a Bonanyang family. *Eyakoh George* , a Bonanyang elite based in the United States and reportedly from the family concerned, has disputed that account. He says the act was not intended as a threat to anyone's life, but was allegedly a last-resort response to what he describes as unresolved grievances over the project site, including claims that family property and trees were affected. The competing accounts point to deeper community grievances that now require dialogue and clarification as Bonanyang celebrates a major development project nearing completion.
3. *WOULD BONANYANG HEED TO FON'S CALL FOR UNITY, SHUN INFIGHTING, ELECT NEW EXCO OF BONACUDA, FORGE COLLECTIVE PROGRESS?* The Traditional leader of Bonanyang in Etwi has called on his people to mobilize for a meeting to prepare for elections into the Bonanyang Cultural and Development Association (BONACUDA). However, the call appears to be facing challenges as Bonanyang remains divided between _different community development groups, with one faction insisting that existing differences must first be resolved before elections can take place._ The situation has raised concerns about the impact of competing cultural and development associations on community progress. Can Bonanyang achieve meaningful development while divided, or must unity come first? And more broadly, is the multiplicity of cultural and development associations in our villages and quarters sometimes stalling the very development they were created to promote?
4. *MORE SUPPORT NEEDED AS EBANG EFFORTS ENABLE GTC TAKEOFF WITH 10 STUDENTS*: Government Technical College ( *GTC) Ebang* has officially taken off, with at least 10 students enrolled as the community continues its efforts to establish the newly created institution amid the challenges of the Anglophone crisis and rural exodus. Speaking during a community meeting with Ebang parents, the Principal expressed appreciation to the Ebang Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Ebang elites and the wider community for mobilising resources to make the school’s opening possible. He, however, stressed that more support is still needed to attract more students and provide essential teaching and learning materials. Practical sessions are expected to begin in the second term, as the school currently faces resource limitations. The Principal has encouraged parents to enrol more children, provide textbooks and workbooks—particularly for Mathematics—and support their children with homework at home. From an empty beginning to 10 students and a functioning college, Ebang has taken its first step. The journey continues—and the community is being called upon to keep walking with the school.
5. *BONACUDA NORTH AMERICA: APONG OR FORKIM - WHO'LL BE YOUR NEXT PRESIDENT?* Apong Bernard, alias Dollar, and Forkim Julius are set to battle for the presidency of BONACUDA North America as members prepare for an online election during the General Assembly on October 10, 2026. The winner will succeed outgoing President Agharih Asumba and inherit the responsibility of steering the association’s affairs, including the push to complete the remaining 10% of the facility project in Bonanyang. With two candidates, one ballot and the future of BONACUDA’s development agenda at stake, members will have a clear choice to make. _Dollar or Forkim — who gets your vote? Much will be expected of the new president haven the standards set by outgoing._
