𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸…

As we look back on our World Environment Day 2026 celebration, we are proud to reflect on the successful showcase of our Community Greenhouse Project in Limbola, Limbe, Cameroon.

The event brought together beneficiaries of the project, government authorities, traditional leaders, private sector representatives, and community members to explore how sustainable agriculture can create new livelihood opportunities while reducing pressure on marine resources.

A highlight of the day was the first harvest of bell peppers grown by project beneficiaries just six months after the initiative began. 🌶️

Supported by the French Embassy in Cameroon, this project is helping build resilient coastal communities, strengthen food security, and contribute to marine conservation and climate action.

At the end of the project showcase, participants expressed a strong desire to see the initiative expanded to more coastal communities in Limbe. AMCO has heard their call and is committed to scaling up the project by establishing at least 30 additional greenhouses in the coming years, creating more sustainable livelihood opportunities while strengthening marine conservation efforts.

Yesterday, 22 May, in Yaoundé, AMCO joined the commemoration of World Biodiversity Day, organised by Cameroon's Ministry of Environment, Nature Protection, and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED), where we showcased the country's rich marine biodiversity and highlighted the importance of protecting our oceans and aquatic ecosystems.

Through our exhibition stand, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about marine species conservation, ongoing research, and community-led efforts to protect Cameroon’s marine and freshwater ecosystems.
