We are community development experts recognizing that for the world to become sustainable, the potential of communities must be harnessed. We work in the community cognizant of the fact that majority of indigenous people live below the poverty line in communities around Cameroon. We therefore work with communities to find ways to bring diverse groups together and leverage their abilities, interest

s, and resources in order to engender shared value and benefits. We align ourselves with the objectives of funders—corporate, government, or multilateral—with the self-expressed needs of intended beneficiaries. We work persistently from the outset of interventions to connect with stakeholders in Cameroonian communities to get a reliable picture of the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities. We ensure local ownership of initiatives by working with communities to drive program design and implementation.

To celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, Community Centre for Integrated Development carried out a sensitization campaign on Sunday, 24th May 2026 at Presbyterian Church, Bokwai in Buea, Cameroon.

The session brought together young girls between the ages of 6 to 16 for an educational and interactive discussion on menstrual hygiene and reproductive health.

Topics covered included; understanding the menstrual cycle and its effects on the body, tracking and calculating periods, practicing proper hygiene and sanitation during menstruation, adopting healthy nutrition and feeding habits during periods, and debunking harmful myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation in our communities.

Through open conversations and practical learning, the girls were empowered with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to manage their menstrual health safely, hygienically, and with dignity.

At CCID, we believe that education is a powerful tool in breaking stigma, promoting menstrual health awareness, and building a period-friendly society where every girl feels informed, confident, and empowered.

Today, the Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID) visited Lumei Christie Primary School to raise awareness on sexual assault among pupils.

The session focused on helping children understand what sexual assault is, the importance of consent, and the age at which consent is legally recognized. Pupils were also encouraged to identify trusted adults, such as parents, guardians, and teachers, as safe persons they can speak to if they ever feel uncomfortable, harassed, or harmed.

A key message shared was that they should never be afraid or ashamed to speak up. Reporting abuse is a brave and important step toward staying safe.

Through this engagement, CCID continues its commitment to educating young people, preventing abuse, and building a culture where every child feels protected and heard.

In commemoration of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID), in collaboration with the Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the Family and other civil society organizations, organized a peaceful match pass in Buea.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness and educate the public on sexual harassment and gender-based violence, issues that continue to affect communities across Buea and Cameroon at large.

The match pass commenced from UB Junction and proceeded to Check Point, Molyko Stadium, engaging community members and amplifying the call for action against all forms of violence.

Together, we stand to break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and promote safer communities for all.
