Success Story from the Stay Healthy, Play Better Campaign!

Springboard Foundation Cameroon is thrilled to announce that our recent Stay Healthy, Play Better Campaign was hugely successful! Initially planned for 70 participants, we exceeded expectations and provided free health screenings to over 100 individuals!

Thanks to our partnership with VIAC (Vision in Action Cameroon), we were able to offer:
✅ HIV testing
✅ Blood pressure checks
✅ Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments
✅ Blood sugar level tests

The incredible turnout and positive feedback show how much impact we can create when we come together for healthier communities. Thank you to everyone who participated, our dedicated volunteers, and the amazing team at VIAC for making this possible. ❤️

Springboard Foundation presents the Stay Healthy, Play Better Campaign, a one-day health and wellness activity designed for veteran players and fans.

This activity will target 70 Participants who will all have access to free health screenings, including Hepatitis B screening, HIV testing, blood pressure checks, body mass index (BMI) assessments, and blood sugar level tests.

Venue: Molyko-Stadium, Buea SWR.

Breast Cancer Awareness and Sensitisation Campaign

The month of October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month worldwide. The campaign is aimed at educating people about the importance of early screening, detection, and treatment of breast cancer.

According to WHO, breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women worldwide, both in developed and developing countries, and a primary cause of death of women in metropolitan cities.

To support the cause, SPRINGBOARD FOUNDATION organized a Breast Cancer Awareness and Sensitization Campaign on Sunday 16th October 2022 at Bondoma Buea SWR of Cameroon. This interactive event was attended by about 30 women mostly powered by a group of women in Buea called GSLA

Speaker’s where a number of medical doctors with profound years of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
Beginning with a general outlook on all types of cancers and a talk about the lifestyle changes that are resulting in an increase in breast cancer cases.

The importance of regular self-inspection and clinical self-examination for the early detection of breast cancer was also highlighted as 80% cases are detected at the advanced stage.
Any woman can get breast cancer irrespective of their family history, the speakers insinuated that breast cancer can be cured if treatment is provided at the right time. The speakers also talked on the symptoms of breast cancer and preventive measures to be taken in order to reduce the risk of this disease.

In the end, questions from the audience were taken up and informative resources for detailed information about Breast Self-Examination (BSE) were distributed among participants
The Campaign proved to be awareness-imparting and thought-provoking for everyone.

SPRINGBOARD FOUNDATION looks forward to conducting more such seminars in the future. The event proved to be a huge success as the entire seminar hall was quite interactive.
