On September 4th, Lesley Foundation and its partners successfully convened a Community Dialogue for Peacebuilding, Social Cohesion, and Coexistence in Mudeka, Tiko Sub-Division.
Held at the Mudeka Chief Palace, the session brought together host community members, internally displaced persons (IDPs), youth, and women to address shared socio-economic challenges, strengthen mutual trust, and promote peaceful coexistence.

Through inclusive focus group discussions, participants actively mapped out local priorities, highlighted key challenges, and proposed practical solutions, emphasizing the vital role of women and youth in peacebuilding and community decision-making.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the traditional leadership, the residents of Mudeka, and our implementing partners for their strong engagement and shared commitment to building a resilient, united community where no one is left behind.

The Lesley Foundation in collaboration with CASAF brought together members of Missellele community at the Central Meeting Point for a powerful Dialogue on Peacebuilding, Social Cohesion, and Coexistence.
Our sessions focused on integrated social cohesion and economic empowerment, moving from identifying core community challenges in a Problem Tree exercise to breaking out into focused group discussions. Together, we didn't just talk about peace,we mapped out real, actionable next steps and priority projects for sustainable developmentTogether, we are creating a stronger, more united community.

Today, Foundation proudly joined fellow youth-led organizations in the Southwest Region to celebrate International Youth Day.

Gathered together under this year’s inspiring theme, we engaged in deep reflections on the vital role young leaders play in driving sustainable development, innovation, and community resilience. From thought-provoking discussions to strategic action plans, the energy in the room was truly electric.
Youth are not merely the future; we are active changemakers shaping our communities today. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this impactful commemoration.

Today, Lesley Foundation warmly welcomed undergraduate students from the University of Buea of Public health for a transformative 6-week professional internship!l.

Over the next six weeks, these dynamic interns will bridge academic theory with grassroots action. They’ll work alongside our team across our core thematic areas: SRHR, malaria prevention, menstrual health advocacy, child protection, Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS awareness across our local communities.

We are thrilled to mentor, collaborate with, and learn from these passionate young changemakers as we build healthier, more equitable communities together.

Today, the Lesley Foundation held a highly productive stakeholder engagement meeting at the Tiko council. We officially introduced our project, focusing on fostering social cohesion, youth civic participation, and sustainable community development across Missellele and Mudeka.

It was inspiring to collaborate with local authorities, traditional leaders, and institutional partners to align our shared vision for the upcoming months. Together, we discussed upcoming baseline surveys, inclusive community dialogues, and actionable steps to ensure genuine community-driven progress.

Today, our team hit the ground in Missellelevand Mudeka to launch our baseline survey for the "Fostering Coexistence and Resilience in Tiko" project.

By gathering direct insights from residents, IDPs, and local leaders, we are building a strong, community-driven foundation for inclusive development and peace. A huge thank you to the community members and local enumerators for their warm reception and active participation.

Transforming local commitment into lasting impact.
Today, we hosted an impactful joint field visit in Missellele and Mudeka alongside the 4th Deputy Mayor of Tiko Council, the Local Solutions Officer, and our Bureau régional GIZ Yaoundé Technical Adviser.

During our sessions, the Traditional Councils of both communities expressed their enthusiastic support and unwavering commitment to partner with us throughout this journey, pledging full community mobilization for the project's success.
