Mount Fako Trails

Mount Fako Trails Our areas of intervention:
Sustainable Community Development, Save Ecosystem and Sustainable ecotourism

Promoting sustainable ecotourism within and outside the Mount Cameroon National Park as a tool for community development and preservation of heritage. Through ecotourism, over exploitation of forest resources have drastically reduce, hunting activities has also drop as we have been able to transform hunters to guides and porters. We equally look forward to build the capacities of the local guides

and porters and the village committees of the 41 park villages. Educate the local guides and porters on the code of conduct, reception techniques, hygiene and sanitation waste management, etc. We have also gone a long way with education on the legal framework and procedures in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure. Following a collaborative relationship with these communities, every revenue generated is used to pay for the services of the porters and guides, assist communities in community development activities, programs and projects. To better improve the livelihood of these communities, we plan to carry out a survey of other resources related to ecotourism product and output. As part of our activities, we also carry out:
- Environmental protection services, programs and projects
- Livelihood support to rural, semi urban and urban communities especially forest dependent communities.
