Green Hands Planet joins community stakeholder, local authority and community members made of Farmers, youths and women of Lower Bokova Mile 15 and other NGOs / CSO 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 Buea

We gather today Friday the 6th of June which is officially recognized as the World Environment Day 2026 with the Theme: Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future; Series of activities were organized and led-up by EYAGLA;
The commemoration featured: 1) Creating awareness on climate change, adaptation and mitigation strategy.

2) Management of our waste by segregation of plastic from organic waste and recycling the organic waste into our environment through regenerative agriculture.

3) Training on the right procedure of using chemical pesticides and fertilizer and alternative organic methods to regenerate our ecosystem.

4) A tree planting exercise and demonstrating it's benefits of protecting our environment

5) Interview of CSO on the need to celebrate this World Environment Day and the benefit to the Community members of lower Bokova.

This year's World Environment Day theme, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future," reminds us that nature remains one of our greatest allies in addressing climate change and building resilient communities.

Green Hands Planet with much glad extends its appreciation to all partners, community members, volunteers, and stakeholders of Lower Bokova Mile 15 who took part in celebrating this day and contributed to the success of the environmental program.

At a global scale, we can build cleaner, greener, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

🐝 Big News from Green Hands Planet! 🌿
We are thrilled to announce that GHP has officially established our very first Apiary Demonstration Site at the Bulu Native Lands in the South West Region of Cameroon! 🎉
Six (6) Kenya Top Bar Hives have been fabricated, transported, and installed within the rich, biodiverse forest-farm landscape of Bulu — and this is just the beginning! 🍯🌳
This apiary is more than honey production. It is a living classroom — a space where:
🌱 Community youths will be trained in modern, sustainable beekeeping
👩‍🌾 Smallholder farmers will learn how apiculture boosts crop yields through pollination
💡 Agripreneurs will be equipped with skills to build bee-based enterprises
🌍 Agroecology and biodiversity conservation are demonstrated in practice
From hive fabrication to field installation, every step of this journey has been powered by the energy and commitment of our team and community partners. 💪🏾

Celebrity Earth Day 2026 with the theme "Our Power, Our Planet"

Green Hands Planet has taken the Mile Stone today on establishing an apiary inc Buea serving as a demonstration apiary that will help to protect our environment, Increase food security and biodiversity and enhance our community development through the Empowering of unemployed youths and marginalized farmers.

We also started a community nursery made of 1000 economic trees that will be donated to farmers around the Mount Cameroon National Park before the end of July, so that they shift their energy from deforestation to afforestation through the agroforestry techniques.

Not neglecting the beauty of our cities ornamental trees and flowers are incorporated to improve the urban climate of the urban areas leading to those communities around the Mount Cameroon National Park.

Together our collective effort can build a sustainable food system.
