Every girl deserves the opportunity to dream, the freedom to become, and the support to thrive.

Today, as we commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, Her Impact Alliance stands in solidarity with every girl whose voice is unheard, whose dreams are underestimated, and whose potential is limited by circumstances beyond her control.

We believe that every girl deserves access to quality education, equal opportunities, a safe environment, and the freedom to make informed decisions about her future. No girl should have to abandon her dreams because of poverty, discrimination, early marriage, gender-based violence, or a lack of opportunities.

A girl who believes in herself can challenge limitations. A girl who is empowered can transform her community. And when girls are given the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed, entire societies benefit.

At Her Impact Alliance, we are committed to building a world where girls are confident in their abilities, courageous enough to pursue their dreams, and equipped to become the women they aspire to be.

Today, we remind every girl:

164 countries just agreed to fix a map that’s been misleading us for over 450 years.

Africa is not the same size as Greenland. It’s about fourteen times bigger. But for generations, we’ve all grown up looking at maps that shrink Africa and make it seem smaller than it really is. That kind of distortion doesn’t just sit on paper, it shapes how people see the continent and its importance.

And it’s interesting that one country voted no. Not because the map is accurate, but because changing it means changing the story.

This was never just about geography. It’s about perception, power, and who gets to decide how Africa is seen.

So yes, we keep correcting it. We keep telling the truth. And we keep showing up for each other, wherever we are in the world.

Her Safety and Wellbeing is more important than her marital status.

Today, people say “stop domestic violence, stop killing women and girls.”
Tomorrow, the same people ridicule women for not being married.

What if we taught our daughters and sisters that not being chosen by a man doesn’t make them less?
What if we taught them that their worth is rooted in who they are , not in validation from the opposite gender?
What if we taught them that a failed relationship is okay?
And what if we encouraged them to walk away from what drains or endangers them without guilt or fear of being judged?

At least six cases of femicide have been reported in the past week and I wonder what the total number would be if the unreported cases were included.

Challenging domestic violence requires more than condemning killings after they happen. It also requires confronting the judgements, the jokes and the pressures that convinces women that they must endure abuse to avoid being called failures.

The change we seek starts with teaching women and girls that their worth is not tied to being chosen and that their safety, dignity and freedom must come first.
No relationship is worth their life and walking away is not a failure.

Through skills acquisition and empowerment programs, seminars, school-based workshops, and webinars, HIA carries out advocacy and training initiatives targeted at displaced women and female inmates. The organization also runs entrepreneurship programs for displaced women by teaching them practical skills and providing start-up capital. In addition, HIA is committed to developing the Mindset and capacity of young girls and women to help them reach their full potential. Through these initiatives, the organization actively contributes to the achievement of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG1 (No Poverty), SDG5 (Gender Equality), SDG8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities)
