From 12–15 May 2026, staff of DAREM-PEI proudly participated in the +, Management and Results-Based Management (RBM) Capacity Building Session organized under the project for Implementing Partners ( ) and .

The training focused on knowledge and practical skills in integrated results-based management, financial management, workplan development, reporting, budgeting, monitoring, and accountability processes using the Plus system. Participants also engaged in practical sessions on workplan management, processes, procedures, policy, preparedness, and -based management approaches.

As a grantee under the -supported initiative, DAREM-PEI values this opportunity to build capacity, improve compliance and standards, and enhance effective project implementation. The seminar also provided a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among implementing partners and grantees working toward sustainable development outcomes.

Voices, Peace: and Step into in .

DAREM-PEI, under the project “ , and in Action: Empowering Indigenous Mbororo Women and Girls for , in Peace, and in the Southwest Region of Cameroon,” carried out a key in Limbe as part of ongoing implementation in the area.

The conducted a two-day training session for indigenous Mbororo women and girls, on local governance processes, , and public participation. Particular emphasis was placed on how participants can effectively engage in Local decision-making and take part in shaping policies that affect their communities.

The training provided a practical and engaging for participants to better understand governance at the local level. Through interactive and group exercises, the women and girls their leadership skills, built , and explored ways to actively contribute to community decision-making, , and inclusive development.

This activity in Limbe the project’s objective of ensuring that indigenous Mbororo women and girls are with the knowledge and skills needed to participate meaningfully in governance processes, while playing a vital role in conflict and peace in the Southwest Region of Cameroon.

and Girls Through , , and in

DAREM-PEI successfully carried out an impactful empowerment training on scotch egg production for Mbororo and non-Mbororo women and girls in Manenguba. This activity was implemented under the “Woman eh Wuna Place Dey” project, with the aim of strengthening , promoting self-reliance, and enhancing the economic of women and girls in the community.

During the training, participants were taken through , hands-on sessions on how to prepare scotch eggs using locally available ingredients. Beyond just learning a , the session emphasized how small-scale food production can serve as a source of income. The women and girls were also guided on basic , packaging, and marketing to help them turn this skill into a viable opportunity.

Following the practical session, the team facilitated an interactive discussion on current Gender-Based Violence ( ) issues affecting women and girls. The conversation highlighted how economic dependency often increases to violence, and why empowering women financially is a key step toward reducing GBV. Participants shared experiences, asked questions, and explored ways to support one another in creating safer environments.

The session also addressed and awareness, focusing on prevention, reducing stigma, and promoting safe practices. Emphasis was placed on the importance of regular , informed decision-making, and access to accurate information as essential tools for protecting one’s .

This activity reflects DAREM-PEI’s continued commitment to combining economic empowerment with -raising to address the root causes of vulnerability among and . By equipping participants with both practical skills and critical knowledge, we are contributing to building stronger, , and more resilient .

STUDENTS WITH ON , , AND HEALTH AT BANGEM

DAREM-PEI is committed to ensuring that people are not only but to make safe and life choices. During our recent outreach at Brain Ladder Institute Bangem (BLIB), carried out under the Eh Dey Project, students engaged in an and educative session on -Based Violence (GBV), and Health and Rights (SRHR), and sanitation, and health.

The team broke down complex topics into , relatable lessons. Students were guided to understand what is, how to recognize its different forms, and the importance of speaking up and seeking help. Discussions on focused on body , , respect, and making informed , equipping both and with accurate knowledge that helps prevent , early , and transmitted infections.

A key highlight of the session was health education. Many myths and were addressed, helping girls understand that menstruation is natural and should never be a source of shame. They were taught proper menstrual hygiene practices, while boys were sensitized to and respect their female peers, contributing to a more inclusive and -free school environment.

The hygiene and sanitation component emphasized everyday practices such as , cleanliness, and maintaining a environment, all of which are essential for preventing disease and overall well-being.

Through interactive discussions, and answers, and practical , students left the session more confident, informed, and aware of their rights and . This is the kind of knowledge that protects, empowers, and transforms lives.

DAREM-PEI is pleased to the start of II implementation of its 2026 project on , and in , with technical support from ALVF through AFD - Agence Française de Développement . The project, titled “Women, Peace and Security in Action: Mbororo Women and Girls for , in Peace, and in the Southwest Region of Cameroon,” aims to strengthen the role of indigenous Mbororo women and girls in and community development.

As part of the initial phase of activities, DAREM-PEI organized a two-day training session in Kumba for indigenous Mbororo women and girls. The training focused on local processes, , and participation, with particular attention to how participants can engage more effectively in Local Council decision-making.

The sessions provided practical knowledge on how local councils function and created an opportunity for participants to build leadership skills and confidence. Through discussions and group exercises, the women and girls explored ways to take part in community decisions, their concerns, and contribute to peace and development efforts within their localities.

This activity marks an important step in ensuring that indigenous Mbororo women and girls are actively involved in prevention, peace processes, and reintegration efforts in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. DAREM-PEI remains committed to supporting their meaningful and their voices in governance and spaces.

DAREM successfully carried out a comprehensive campaign at Government Bilingual High School Bangem, engaging across all classes in meaningful on -Based Violence (GBV) and and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

The session created a and space where students were educated on:

causes, risks, and long-term consequences of early and forced marriages, especially on the education and wellbeing of young girls

Through open , -life examples, and question-and-answer sessions, students were able to express their concerns, norms, and gain clarity on issues affecting their daily lives. In a show of and commitment to social justice, DAREM-PEI joined forces with several society organizations in Buea, in with and , to organize a Walk .

This impactful event was held under the theme: “25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward.” The theme highlights both reflection and progress, recognizing past efforts in the against violence while reinforcing the commitment to building a for all.
