On 13 June 2026, Architect of Transforming Lives, aired on CBS Radio 95.3, tackling “High on Drugs, Low in Progress: Chatting the Way for National Development.”

Common stories around Buea were : a UB graduate selling tramadol to survive, a Buea mother whose son lost his scholarship to mkpuru mmiri. Imagination and ambition were hijacked.

The campaign was vital because it shifted focus from arrest to dialogue. By giving youth a voice, it exposed unemployment and trauma as root causes, and charted sober, skill-driven paths to rebuild both lives and Cameroon’s future.

Architects of Transforming Lives is also concerned and will always be involved in the fight against drug abuse anywhere and anytime.

Yesterday, the youth leaders of Checkpoint Molyko in Buea took a bold and timely step by launching a community campaign against drug consumption and drug abuse among young people.

Our team at Architect of Transforming Lives was proud to join the Molyko youths in this important campaign, standing together to raise awareness, educate young people, and call for stronger community action against the growing threat of drug abuse.

Drug abuse is destroying the dreams, health, education, and future of many young people. It is not only a personal problem; it is a community problem that requires families, schools, youth groups, civil society organizations, local authorities, and development partners to act together.

We commend the courage of the youth leaders of Checkpoint Molyko for refusing to stay silent. Their action is a strong reminder that young people are not only victims of social problems; they are also powerful agents of change.

We call on partners who support youth empowerment, mental health, community safety, education, and anti-drug campaigns to stand with grassroots youth initiatives like this one.
