To increase maternal and newborn survival in Cameroon, we utilize a proximate leadership model that takes healthcare directly into the heart of communities.

Our market outreach strategy, addresses critical barriers like distance and information gaps by engaging market women in their own environment.

We casually initiate health conversations using culturally sensitive, tailored flyers as guides to educate on nutrition, hygiene and we teach them to recognize early symptoms related to conditions like pre-eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, which causes nearly 25% of maternal deaths in high-need regions.

Our most recent market outreach initiative successfully reached over 146 individuals, ensuring that life-saving advocacy remains accessible to all.

Happy birthday to our Founder extraordinaire, Martha Agbornyenty 🎊

She is selflessly leveraging her birthday to raise funds for 10 community-based antenatal care sessions, and we are proud to add our voice to hers in our common mission to increase maternal and newborn survival in rural Cameroon.

Having seen her lead our team with such passion—from our office to global stages—we know how much this goal of saving lives of moms and babies means to her.

The best gift you can give our leader today is a donation. Find all donation info on the flyer below👇

Happy birthday again Ma’am🎉

Globally, 1 in 7 women experience postpartum depression, but in Cameroon, the weight is often heavier; cultural stigma and limited resources mean that many mothers suffer in silence.

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day and we believe that a healthy society begins with a healthy mother, even mentally.

Our Bootcamp for Moms initiative (as captured in the photos, moms identified Mom Guilt and Work-Life Balance as major hurdles) is our direct answer to these statistics.

We provide a safe space for retail therapy and shared vulnerability. We are ensuring that the journey of motherhood is no longer a solitary one.

Happy International Day of the Midwife 2026!🌎

This day is as special to us because we are the first Midwife-Led Organization in Cameroon!

One midwife can provide up to 90% of essential care for mothers and newborns, yet the world is still short by one million of these vital professionals. 🌏

At For Mom and Baby Foundation, we are building a bridge. By investing in student midwives, we are ensuring that the life-saving care we provide today doesn’t just stop when a project ends. It’s about sustainability. When we support a Midwife especially student midwives, we are guaranteed a lifetime of impact for entire communities.

One trained midwife doesn’t just assist with a single birth; they become a pillar of health, education, and safety for decades.

Our office was the site of a vibrant exchange of ideas & experiences last week, as we hosted the With Women Project Cameroon team led by Rachel Bennett for a strategic deep dive.

Throughout their stay in Cameroon, their work alongside the Empower Women Foundation has been a testament to the power of unified action. Our team at FOMAB has valued every opportunity to contribute as partners at the points where our goals intersected in strengthening local healthcare capacity.

Collaboration is the realization that our impact is multiplied when we work together. We are honored to walk this path with such dedicated allies.

You must have seen these images from our 5-year impact film, where the the community is speaking for itself.
In these photos, you don’t just see posters; you see mothers and children reclaiming their right to a safe and healthy future.

This campaign was an eye-opening reminder that when we put the tools of advocacy into the hands of the people we serve, they become the strongest leaders for change. This also reflects the trust we’ve built in these communities over the years.

Our work has shown that these communities don’t need new solutions; they need access, partnership, and the simple means to turn their lived experiences into lasting impact.

Change is a natural part of growth, and today we’re sharing that our dear Elat Larissa is moving on to her next professional adventure. While her presence will be missed, we are supportive of her stepping into a path that we know is the best fit for her next stage of growth.

Elat brought her A-game to our communications and community management, enriching our team with her free spirit, big heart, and a wonderful openness to learning.

We sent her off with a joint cake-cutting, and she surprised the staff with a beautiful photo frame summarizing her time with us—a gesture we all cherish.
We are grateful for the value she added to our mission and we are cheering her on every step of the way!

As we prepare to open up a call for applications soon, tag anyone you know who would be a great fit for this role.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS..🏆

We wrapped up our anniversary by celebrating the incredible people behind our impact.

We honored those who have served with extraordinary heart.
We began by recognizing our pioneer volunteers who have been with us for five years- Egbe Henrietta Oneke, Yvette Bende, Diang Sumbwe, and Tubuo Cornelia Nicheng.

We were also privileged to name Mrs Dorothy Limunga as Midwife of the Year for her 30 years+ of rural service to moms and babies, Tangi Angwi as Health Journalist of the year and Sih Charlotte as Community Health Worker of the Year in photo 1 who boldly said “This is for the community” after being handed her award😊.

We also celebrated our regional volunteers of the year, Jemima Budi and Neba Bernice Ngang.

Finally, honored our founder Martha Agbornyenty with a surprise award of Excellence in Leadership and Impact.

These awards are a tribute to the individuals who make our mission possible every single day.

Congratulations 👏👏
