Buea: DANIIF Supports Menstrual Hygiene Educative Talks

The Daddy International Humanitarian Foundation (DANIHF), on November 27, 2025, joined the Africa Women Summit (AWS) Cameroon Chapter on educating teenagers on menstruation. The event at the Buea Women Empowerment Centre was chaired by Dopgima Stella, Director of the Centre. 30 of the teenagers who are on the verge of their menstruation or already menstruating were drawn from the Government Technical College Bokuva in Buea Subdivision. They were taught about menstrual health and hygiene. Another slot showed the girls practical knowledge on how to calculate their menstrual cycle using beats demarcated in different colours. The taboos, the dos, and don'ts of menstruation were pointed to them.

The President of DANIHF, Kunyui Ngonmenyui, who led a delegation to the training session, appreciated AWS for thinking it wise to ensure the girls know their bodies. He appealed for more educative sessions and indicated DANIHF's availability to support such moves. DANIHF supported the event with sanitary pads, bottled water, and soft drinks.

The President of AWS, Quinta Rita Edang, urged the girls to speak up if molested by anybody. Her call was supported by the director of the centre, Dopgima Stella. The interactive event had questions and answers sessions where doubts from the students were cleared.
