The programme is free, runs until 19 August, and is open to IDPs, youths and women in Yaoundé.

Femicide also known as feminicide is the intentional killing of a woman or girl because of her gender.

It’s the most extreme and brutal form of violence against women rooted in discrimination, harmful stereotypes, and unequal power dynamics.

These murders happen in homes, on the streets, and across communities often following patterns of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse.

Victims are silenced, their lives taken, their bodies sometimes discarded in public spaces as an assertion of control and power.

Some are killed under the guise of “honor”by their own families for so-called transgressions that supposedly bring shame.

But there is no honor in violence, and no justification for murder.

Every woman and girl deserves to live free from fear.
Every act of femicide is one too many.
