Disaster risk reduction begins with awareness, education, and the power to act. This International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, Eco-Network Global reaffirms its commitment to empowering children and teenagers with the knowledge and skills to understand disaster risks, prepare for emergencies, and build resilient communities.

Through our “Comic for Resilience” initiative, we developed a storytelling-based comic book on disaster risk reduction (DRR), using engaging narratives and illustrations to make climate education and disaster preparedness more accessible and meaningful for young learners.

📖 By bringing disaster risk reduction to life through stories, we aim to help children and teenagers understand climate-related hazards, recognise early warning signals, and explore practical ways to protect themselves, support their communities, and become agents of resilience.

We believe that climate education should go beyond classrooms and textbooks. It should inspire curiosity, encourage preparedness, and equip the next generation to face an increasingly uncertain climate future.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 💜

When young women are given the knowledge to act and the opportunities to grow, they don’t just participate, they emerge as leaders.

Three of our SHE for Climate Fellows recently took part in Empower Her, Power the Future, a two-day learning and networking meet organised by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) through its Women’s Empowerment and Energy (WEE) Project on 28–29 September at STARC, Savar.

The training created a space to learn, exchange experiences and explore women’s role in shaping Bangladesh’s renewable energy future by bringing together 27 young women working across climate, gender, renewable energy and social issues.

For She4Climate, this is at the heart of what we believe: capacity building is only the beginning. We work to equip young women with knowledge, confidence and networks, and connect them with spaces and opportunities where they can turn that capacity into action.

Because when young women are capacitated, connected, and given opportunities to lead, they become changemakers.

The journey continues from learning together, to creating opportunities, to leading change for a more inclusive and climate-resilient Bangladesh. 💚
