JOB Vacancy Announcement - Assistant School Cook & Farm Support Officer
ACOHOF School in Bankim is looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join us as an Assistant School Cook and Farm Support Officer. This dual-role position involves responsibilities in both the kitchen and the farm, ensuring the efficient operation of the school's feeding program while also enhancing farm productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Head Cook in meal preparation and kitchen organization.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning food as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and manage inventory.
• Serve meals and assist in organizing the student refectory.
• Participate in farming activities, including planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting.
• Assist in the care of livestock by feeding, cleaning shelters, and monitoring animal health.
• Track produce and livestock items delivered to the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the Teacher of Agriculture to align farm work with student learning.
• Promote composting and the responsible use of kitchen waste for farming purposes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Applicants must have at least a First School Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Additional training in cooking, agriculture, or home economics is an asset. Prior experience in cooking, kitchen work, or farming (formal or informal) is required. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in both kitchen and farm settings.
