WESAD Empowers Young Entrepreneurs Through NEF Partnership
World Economy Skills and Agro Development (WESAD), in partnership with the National Employment Fund (NEF), has launched a six-month Enterprise Development training program for young entrepreneurs.
The program kicked off with two foundational modules:
1. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Risk & Opportunity
Participants explored what it means to think and act like an entrepreneur — understanding risk tolerance, spotting opportunity in uncertainty, types of enterprises, and orientation to the entrepreneurial journey ahead.
2. Business Idea Generation
Trainees learned how to identify credible idea sources and used structured brainstorming techniques to generate and refine viable business concepts.
This is just the beginning. Over the next six months, participants will build on this foundation with practical, hands-on modules designed to turn ideas into sustainable enterprises.
WESAD remains committed to equipping young people with the skills, mindset, and support needed to drive economic growth from the ground up.

Am Called Samiratu Hamadu a GLOW Club Fellow

In *2015*, I joined GLOW Club as a shy and timid girl. I didn’t have a voice.

But Glow Club molded me. It built me on *4 pillars: advocacy skills, educational engagement, positive future outlook, and 21st century skills*. From there I grew in *confidence, courage, hope, curiosity, kindness, and leadership*.

I’m so proud and grateful to have gone through this beautiful program. It didn’t just teach me — it made me who I am today.

GLOW Club gave me so much, it molded me as a mentee and as a mentor it helped me mold other girls. I knew the Best way to give back to GLOW club was by passing on knowledge gain from GLOW club, so I volunteered as a mentor with GLOW club for *2 years under World Economy Skills and Agro Development (WESAD) where l gain a lot of experience, and even after that I continued mentoring girls informally in my community. Because I believe *investing in one girl is investing in the whole community*.

Today I use what Glow taught me to lead.

Now I serve as *President of the Fulani Student Development Association*, *Co-founder of Girls Guide Network*, and *Junior Parliamentarian*. I will also be launching the *Mboror Girls Mentorship Initiative* which is a Mbororo Girls mentorship focus on Education - Culture - Entrepreneurship.

My vision for girls is Every girl should be confident, educated, and unafraid to lead. A generation of girls who know their worth and change their communities.

Glow Club found me shy. Glow Club made me a leader. And now I’m helping other girls GLOW.

WESAD (World Economy Skills and Agro Development), a non-profit organization based in Bamenda, below St. Felix Catholic Church GRA, is pleased to announce the launch of its Smart Digital Skills Programme, a one-month hands-on computer training designed to equip participants with the practical digital skills needed to succeed in today's digital world, beginning As from 05th August 2026 to 4th September 2026.
Whether you are a student, job seeker, entrepreneur, or someone who simply wants to become computer literate, this programme is an excellent opportunity to acquire practical skills that can transform your future.
Participants will receive intensive hands-on training in:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft PowerPoint
Other programs are customized and delivered according to participants needs.
The programme is open to boys and girls from the age of 10 years and above, as well as students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, workers, and anyone interested in learning basic computer skills.

Training Details
Registration Fee: 10,000 FCFA only per participant.
Duration: One Month
Training Days: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Training Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We encourage parents to enrol their children during this holiday period, and we invite all youths and adults who wish to improve their computer knowledge to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. Investing in digital skills today is an investment in a brighter future.

Every learning journey leaves a lasting impact, and this five-day GBV Case Management Training was no exception.

The final day of the training, organized by TeenAlive - Cameroon and Wacameroon Ngo with technical support from UNFPA Cameroon , shifted the focus to an often-overlooked but essential topic: self-care.

After four intensive days of strengthening our skills in survivor-centred case management, ethical practice, communication, referrals, and support for survivors of Gender-Based Violence, we were reminded that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves.

Supporting survivors can be emotionally demanding. As case managers and frontline workers, taking time to rest, reflect, seek support, and protect our mental and emotional well-being is not a luxury but a necessity that enables us to continue serving with empathy, professionalism, and compassion.

At Wesad Cameroon , we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this enriching learning experience. We leave with strengthened knowledge, renewed purpose, and a deeper commitment to ensuring survivors receive the quality, dignified, and survivor-centred support they deserve.

World Economy Skills and Agro Development - WESAD was honored to participate in the NWSW Coordination Transition Workshop organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Bamenda.
The workshop convened representatives from UN agencies, international and national NGOs, government institutions, cluster coordinators, co-leads, and humanitarian partners to discuss the transition from the traditional Cluster Coordination System to the Area-Based Coordination (ABC) approach.
During the workshop, participants exchanged knowledge and experiences on humanitarian transition priorities, coordination structures, collaboration with government authorities, and strategies for delivering sustainable, inclusive, and community-centered humanitarian responses across the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. Wesad Cameroon values opportunities to engage in strategic discussions that advance locally led solutions and strengthen community resilience.

Advancing gender equality requires more than awareness, it demands intentional action and transformative change.

We joined a working session on Gender Transformative Approaches in Buea, organized by TeenAlive - Cameroon Wacameroon Ngo with technical support from UNFPA Cameroon. The session strengthened participants' understanding of how gender transformative approaches can promote gender equality, prevent GBV, and foster inclusive community development.

The event also commemorated International Widows’ Day under the theme “Justice, Dignity and Economic Power for Widows,” drawing attention to the importance of protecting widows’ rights and enhancing their social and economic inclusion.

Through meaningful exchanges with women-led organizations from the North West and South West Regions, we explored practical solutions and collective actions for advancing gender equality and driving lasting social change. Wesad Cameroon

Building Stronger Networks, Amplifying Women's Voices

Wesad Cameroon participated in the Constituent General Assembly and Capacity Building Workshop in Buea, bringing together women-led organizations from the North West and South West Regions to lay the foundation for the NWSW Women-Led Organizations Forum.

The gathering fostered collaboration, shared learning, and collective action toward advancing women's leadership, advocacy, humanitarian response, and the protection of women and girls.

Together, we are building a stronger movement where women lead change and create lasting impact in their communities.

Building Safer Communities Through Knowledge and Action

Creating environments where women and girls can live free from violence requires strong systems, collaboration, and informed action.

Wesad Cameroon joined other Civil Society Organizations in Buea for the GBV Safety Audit Training organized by TeenAlive - Cameroon and Wacameroon Ngo with technical support from UNFPA Cameroon

The training strengthened participants' capacity to identify safety risks, conduct ethical and survivor-centered safety audits, and utilize practical tools to assess how environmental and social factors influence the safety and well-being of women and girls.

Beyond the learning, the training fostered collaboration and coordination among stakeholders committed to strengthening GBV prevention, mitigation, and response across the North West and South West Regions.

WESAD remains committed to advancing the rights, dignity, and protection of women and girls while contributing to safer, more inclusive, and violence-free communities.

Wesad Cameroon was proud to participate in the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) development Workshop held in Buea under the "Woman Eh! Wuna Place Dey" project.

The workshop, organized by UNFPA Cameroon, TeenAlive - Cameroon, and Wacameroon Ngo brought together women-led organizations and GBV actors from the North West and South West regions to strengthen survivor-centered response systems and improve coordination among service providers.

Through collaborative discussions and technical review sessions, participants contributed to the development of harmonized GBV SOPs that will enhance referral pathways, clarify roles and responsibilities, and ensure quality support for survivors.

Together, we are building safer, more coordinated, and inclusive systems that leave no survivor behind.
