When girls know their rights, they can better shape their future!

In Bafoussam, WESAD joined GLOW Club girls to mark the 2026 International Day of the Girl Child, celebrating their voices, dreams, and potential.

The celebration also reminded us that protecting girls’ rights means creating opportunities for education, safety, health, and leadership while standing against child marriage.

Girls deserve to be heard, supported, and given the chance to reach their full potential.
Let’s invest in girls today for a better tomorrow!

Every girl deserves a future filled with possibilities!

GLOW Club girls in Bamenda joined the world to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child 2026.

It was a moment to celebrate girls, recognise their potential, and remind our communities that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, dream, and make decisions about her future.
Our message is clear: End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights! Every girl deserves a chance to shine.

Girls are speaking. Communities are listening.

As part of our GLOW Club activities, selected GLOW Club girls are taking their voices beyond their clubs and onto the radio through a special 4-week girl-led awareness campaign in partnership with Global Catalyst

For the first week, the girls took on an important and difficult conversation: FEMICIDE.
Through an interactive radio discussion, they explored what femicide means, warning signs of harmful and controlling behaviour, how girls can seek help safely, and the role that boys, parents, teachers and the wider community can play in preventing violence against women and girls.

Most importantly, the conversation reminded us that violence should never be normalised, and everyone has a role to play in creating safer communities.

This is only the beginning.
Over the next three weeks, the girls will continue using their voices to raise awareness on:
1. International Day of the Girl Child
2. Drug Abuse
3. Teenage Pregnancy

From GLOW Clubs to the radio, girls are showing that their voices matter, their ideas matter, and they can be part of the change they want to see.

A dream can start small and still make a big difference.

During our GLOW session, the girls filled their Dream Clouds with things they hope to see in their communities and small acts of kindness they can do together.

But dreaming is only the beginning. The girls also explored problem-solving: staying calm, thinking of different solutions, weighing the pros and cons, and trying again when something doesn’t work.

From “What do I wish for my community?” to “How can we make it happen?” GLOW girls are learning that their ideas, voices, and actions matter.

Dream it. Think it through. Do something about it.

Pause... Think... Choose... Plan.

In our GLOW Club session, girls explored what goes into the decisions they make every day.

Through “My North Star,” they reflected on their choices, what influences them, and how their decisions today can shape tomorrow.

The 4 P’s — Principles, Patience, Predict, and Plan, gave them a simple guide to make thoughtful choices.

What guides the choices we make?

In this GLOW Club session, girls explored their values, principles, and the experiences that shaped them.

Through the Principal Petals activity, each girl turned her values into a flower, with every petal reflecting a belief she wants to live by.

It was a simple, creative way to remind them that the choices we make often begin with what we value.

From 2 Clubs to 28: The GLOW Journey Continues!

In 2015, WESAD started with just 2 clubs in the North West, creating safe spaces where girls could learn, connect, speak , and discover their potential.

Today, in 2026, we have grown to 28 clubs across the North West, West, South West, and Centre Regions.

The names and approaches may have evolved from the 10,000 Girls Initiative, to LitClubs, and now GLOW Clubs, and the funding partner evolving from Global Girls Leading our World (Global GLOW) to Global Catalyst, but the purpose remains the same: creating safe spaces where girls can find their voices advocating for themselves and others, build confidence, agency and power, support one another, and create positive change in their communities.

It has been a great programme that continues to grow, inspire and impact girls; one club, one girl and one community at a time.

As we prepare for a new academic year, we’re excited to reach more girls, strengthen more clubs, and create even more opportunities for girls to GLOW, grow and lead.

And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned as we take you along on the GLOW journey, sharing stories, milestones, and the impact these amazing girls are making in their communities.

The journey continues. And so does the GLOW!

🌱 Cohort 2 of business development training is Just Getting Started!

Big things happening at WESAD! 🎉

In partnership with the National Employment Fund (NEF), our Cohort 2 trainees have completed an exciting phase of their Business Development Training on Entrepreneurship, Business Management, and Financial Literacy.

In this stage, they:

🔍 Identified real problems and needs within their own communities
💡 Proposed practical, homegrown solutions
🎯 Defined their unique value propositions
📋 Developed their own Business Model Canvases (BMC) — turning ideas into real business opportunities

This is proof that youth-led solutions can transform communities from the inside out. 👏

But the journey doesn't stop here 11 more modules to go! Cohort 2 still has a full road ahead as they continue building the skills, structure, and confidence to launch and sustain their own ventures.

Let's walk this journey with them. Follow along as they grow from idea to enterprise!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Today, Wesad Cameroon joined fellow Civil Society Organizations, women, men, young people, and community members in Bamenda for a March Against Femicide, walking from City Chemist and T-Junction to Commercial Avenue

Dressed in red and carrying powerful advocacy messages, we marched with one clear message:

STOP KILLING US. OUR LIVES MATTER.

No woman should lose her life simply because she is a woman. Femicide is not a private matter. It is a community concern that demands collective action.

We must challenge harmful norms, speak up against violence, support survivors, demand accountability, and strengthen systems that protect women and girls.

Together, we say: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

To kick off the 2026/2027 academic year right, we hosted a 2-day intensive training for our incredible Girl Boss Club mentors! 💪

This year, we equipped our mentors with fresh mentoring skills, knowledge, and resources using our signature methodology:

Through hands-on micro-mentoring sessions, our mentors got to practice real techniques in real time and the results spoke for themselves! Mentors left with a much deeper understanding of what it takes to guide, inspire, and empower the next generation of girl bosses.

Here's to a new year of powerful mentorship and unstoppable girls! ✨️ We were honoured to have on board PridePads and Brightminds participating during this year's training.
