HAPPY PRESS FREEDOM DAY.

Journalists risk their lives often with little or no pay to inform, educate, and keep the world aware. Too often, their voices are silenced through censorship, intimidation, and digital attacks that prevent them from fulfilling their vital role. Yet, driven by passion, dedication, and a commitment to truth, many continue to stand firm, reporting facts with courage and integrity.
On this World Press Freedom Day, we recognize their sacrifices and renew the call to protect press freedom. A truly democratic society depends on the safety, independence, and voices of journalists everywhere.

NATIONAL INCLUSIVE CONFERENCE ON DIGITAL RIGHTS AND DEMOCRATIC PARTICIPATION OF YOUTH IN CAMEROON.

We have successfully concluded our Conference on Youth Rights and Democratic Participation in Cameroon in Yaounde.

The conference marks another important step in amplifying youth voices, protecting digital rights, and strengthening inclusive democratic participation in Cameroon.

From the arid landscapes of Maroua in the Far North Region to the lush hills of Bamenda in the Northwest and the cultural hub of Buea in the Southwest, a movement is gaining momentum. United Youths Organization (UYO), in partnership with Association Civic Watch Cameroon, ARDHU, and HUPED, has been igniting conversations on digital rights and youth empowerment.

Through three regional advocacy dialogues, they've delved into pressing issues: digital access needs, local policy gaps hindering youth internet access, and barriers to governance participation. The discussions have been candid, focusing on civic participation, inclusive leadership, and charting a path for impactful advocacy.

Building on this momentum, the Cameroon National Youth Council, UYO, and partners are set to host a pivotal one-day National Inclusive Advocacy Conference. This landmark event will showcase findings and recommendations from the regional dialogues, with a clear call to action for government and stakeholders to address gaps and champion digital rights, political engagement, and democratic participation.

The conference is more than a gathering; it's a call to empower Cameroon's youth and shape the nation's digital future.
