At Pathfinders STEM Hub, Cameroon, Bamenda-Cameroon 🇨🇲, we're building the first of its kind STEM library one book at a time. Welcome to our Community STEM library.

In Cameroon, especially in the North West Region, thousands of children and young people have little or no access to quality STEM books, educational resources, or safe learning spaces. Schools libraries often lack up-to-date science, technology, engineering, and mathematics materials, limiting opportunities for curiosity, innovation, and hands-on learning.

We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to the knowledge and resources needed to thrive in the 21st century.

We are therefore seeking partnerships and collaborations with individuals, organisations, schools, publishers, and companies who share our vision. Together, we can build a fully equiped, inclusive Community STEM Library that is open to everyone. We are building a place where learners of all ages can discover, create, innovate, and be inspired to shape a better future.

In many parts of the world, young people are struggling to access education, employment and opportunities. According to UNESCO as reported by UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for TVET 1 in 4 young people worldwide are not in employment, education or training (NEET).

In conflict-affected regions such as the North West Region of Cameroon, where the ongoing Anglophone crisis has disrupted education and livelihoods for thousands of young people, this challenge is even more severe. Many youths are exposed to unemployment, drug abuse, recruitment into armed groups, survival s*x, early pregnancies, and other forms of vulnerability.

At Sustainable Actions Afrika through our TVET center [https://sustainableactionsafrika.org/abakwa-tvet-center-bamenda-cameroon/] we believe that skills create hope, dignity and opportunity.

Through our Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installation & Maintenance and CCTV Camera Systems Installation, we have already equipped over 200 crisis-affected and vulnerable young people with practical, industry-relevant skills that improve their employability, foster entrepreneurship, and enable them to build sustainable livelihoods.

These programmes go beyond technical training. They empower young people to become problem-solvers, innovators and changemakers who can contribute to more peaceful, resilient and sustainable communities.

As we celebrate World Youth Skills Day 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding access to quality technical and vocational education for the young people who need it most.

When we invest in youth skills, we invest in peace.
When we invest in youth skills, we invest in resilience.
When we invest in youth skills, we invest in a shared future.
