Cameroon Ecotourism and Alternative Lifelihood Lifestyles for Youth and Young Women in Africa

Since 2013 Bafut Ecovillage has been building Ecolodges for hosting Cameroon Bioregional Ecovillage Design Education EDEs and to serve as ecological retreat centres for local healthy tourism.

So far our EDEs have come up with the Bafut Community Resilient Plan based and carried out capacity building for youth through innovation labs which help them design green businesses that meet rural community challenges; loss of food sovereignty, unemployment, water shortages, land degradation and global warming.

Bafut Ecovillage is drawing from the Bafut cultural heritage to organise international youth exchange and coordination of the processes of adapting regenerative education and adaptive local governance to the context of sustainable development, ecological agriculture, youth development and sharing best practices with civil society, ethical businesses and relevant government departments.
