From My Heart to Yours, This International Women's Day.

Dear friends, family, and cherished members of the BeLA community,
As we commemorate International Women's Day here in Bamenda, my heart is filled with both reflection and renewed determination. Today is a day to celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit of women everywhere, but especially those who are often unseen and unheard.
Here at the Beacon of Light Association (BeLA), we believe in the transformative power of women and youth. We believe in their inherent ability to rise above challenges, to shape their own destinies, and to become beacons of hope within their communities.
My journey with BeLA has been a testament to this belief. Witnessing the strength of the women and youth we serve, their courage in the face of adversity, and their unwavering determination to build a better future, fuels my passion every single day.
This IWD, I want to express my deepest gratitude to every woman who has dared to dream, to every young person who has refused to give up, and to every supporter who has believed in our mission. We are building something truly special together.
Remember, empowerment is not just a word; it's an action. It's about providing access to education, fostering capacity development, and creating safe spaces where individuals can thrive. It's about recognizing the inherent worth and potential of every person.
Here in Bamenda, the challenges are real, but so is our resolve. Through BeLA, we are committed to safeguarding human rights, empowering women and youth, and fostering a generation of socially conscious leaders.
Let us continue to work together, to support one another, and to create a world where every woman and young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Happy International Women's Day
With unwavering hope and gratitude,

Dr. Yekpu Eleen Ndze,
Founder and Executive Director,
Beacon of Light Association (BeLA)

March is here, and with it, we celebrate the incredible women and girls who light up our lives. They are mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, leaders, and dreamers, each one a force of strength, resilience, and love.
Let’s honour their courage, their wisdom, and their ability to rise, even when the world feels heavy. To every woman and girl: you are enough, you are powerful, and you are deeply valued. This month and always, let’s lift each other up and celebrate the magic of being a woman. 💛

Economic Empowerment

Economic empowerment is key to ending violence against women in Cameroon. When women are financially independent, they gain the strength to stand against violence and advocate for their rights. Let's celebrate and get involved with organizations and individuals paving the way for change through skills development, entrepreneurship, and job opportunities.
