Celebrating Bold Vision and Impact in Health Education. 👏👏👏
Today, we celebrate Dr Akong Mboutou Gwladys Manuela who dared to dream and turned that vision into impact by winning a grant that supported the project “Making Health Concepts Simple for Everyday People.”
Winning the GPG Foundation health grants by GPG Trade Network Limited during brought about a great transformation health education.
Through this initiative, Dr. Akong led a powerful health literacy campaign designed to combat health misinformation, unsafe self-medication, and limited access to reliable health information, particularly among young people in Cameroon.
The project successfully combined digital health education and community outreach, producing 23 engaging multimedia health education contents and organizing live interactive sessions that simplified complex health topics for everyday understanding.
The campaign reached over 14,000 people online and more than 6,800 individuals through community outreach activities across Bamenda I, II, and III, including schools, churches, and orphanages. Health education messages were further amplified through local radio and television, expanding the reach to tens of thousands more.
By delivering bilingual, culturally relevant health information, the project empowered communities with knowledge on key topics such as drug safety, substance abuse, malaria prevention, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
This achievement is a powerful reminder that when doctors step beyond hospital walls and into communities, knowledge becomes a life-saving tool.
👏 Congratulations, Dr. Akong, for your leadership, courage, and commitment to making health knowledge simple, accessible, and impactful for everyday people.
