💙 INCLUSION IN ACTION 💙

One of the things I love most about The AC Mbeng Birthday Initiative4Autism is seeing barriers broken down and opportunities created for individuals of all abilities to learn, participate, and thrive.

This photograph was taken during our 2024 Birthday Initiative4Autism in Bamenda, Cameroon. As part of the day's activities, participants engaged in various craft sessions, including beading. Here, some of our participants are being supported and encouraged by dedicated ambassadors during the activity.

To some, this may look like a simple beading exercise. To me, it represents something much bigger.

It represents patience.
It represents inclusion.
It represents empowerment.
It represents a community coming together to ensure that every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate and succeed.

Too often, disability is viewed through the lens of limitations. Yet moments like these remind us that when the right support is provided, abilities shine through. Skills are developed. Confidence grows. Friendships are formed. And most importantly, people experience a sense of belonging.

Since 2017, The AC Mbeng Birthday Initiative4Autism has been committed to creating opportunities for children and young people with autism and other disabilities to be seen, valued, celebrated, and included.

As we continue this journey and look ahead to the 2027 50th Birthday Edition, our commitment remains the same: to make a positive difference, one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Because inclusion is not about simply being present.

It is about being supported to participate, contribute, and belong.

🌟 WELCOME TO THE AC Mbeng Birthday Initiative4Autism 🌟

What began as a simple desire to celebrate my birthday by giving back has grown into a mission of hope, inclusion, and transformation.

I am AC Mbeng — a Speech and Language Therapist, autism advocate, SEN parent Coach/Mentor, Author of Grief To Grit Miyəfɨmbwen Gha'a Bambui–UK, and Ntumnafoyn Kom–UK.

Through this initiative, I have been privileged to support over 300 children with autism and other disabilities across Cameroon since 2017 through the provision of learning materials, food supplies, toiletries, advocacy, and community outreach services.

As the mother of an autistic son, I understand both the joys and challenges that many families face. I understand the worries, the uncertainties, the victories that often go unnoticed, and the deep desire for every child to be accepted, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

This initiative was born from a belief that every child matters, every family deserves support, and every community has a role to play in creating a more inclusive society.

Over the years, what started as a small birthday outreach has grown into a movement of compassion, bringing together individuals, families, friends, and supporters who share a common vision: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and other disabilities.

As I look ahead to my 50th birthday in 2027, I am excited to continue this journey of giving, advocacy, and community impact. The next Birthday Initiative promises to be our biggest yet, and I look forward to sharing the vision, goals, and opportunities for involvement in the months ahead.

This page will serve as a platform to share our journey, celebrate impact, raise awareness, advocate for inclusion, and highlight the lives and stories of the children and families we serve.

Whether you are a parent, professional, supporter, volunteer, sponsor, or simply someone who believes in making a difference, you are welcome here.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Together, we can make the unseen seen, the unheard heard, and create a world where every child is valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
