🚀 5 YEARS OF EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION IN STEM! 🔬💡

From 2022 to 2026, the Smart STEM Academy (organized by ASOWOS in partnership with WISE) has been breaking barriers, bridging gender gaps, and nurturing young innovators across Cameroon! 🇨🇲✨

Here is a look back at our journey over the past 5 editions:

2022: Break the Barrier, Be the Bridge – Introducing hands-on AI, robotics, coding, and engineering to early learners.
2023: STEM: The Foundation of Innovation – Redefining the engagement of girls and women in technical fields.

2024: Fostering Equity and Diversity in STEM – Expanding practical skill sets in software engineering, green building, and food science.
2025: Create & Construct a Sustainable Path – Launching specialized tracks including STEM EXCELL and hands-on outdoor learning.

2026: Engaging Girls in STEM: Building a Resilient Tomorrow – Expanding across multiple centers (Biyem-Assi, Simbock, Mendong, Olembe, and more) to make STEM education accessible to hundreds of youth!

🚀 Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators!

At ASOWOS, we are still beaming with pride following the incredible success of the Mini STEM Fair right here in Yaoundé!

Co-organizing this event alongside WISE was an absolute privilege, but what made it truly extraordinary was the collective energy of our community. A huge thank you to ASOHEP for serving as our official patron, and to the inspiring Tech Women Alumnae in Cameroon for sharing their wisdom, passion, and mentorship with the participants.

Seeing young minds—especially young girls—light up as they built, experimented, and solved real-world problems reminded us why this work matters. We aren't just teaching science and technology; we are building confidence, breaking barriers, and nurturing Cameroon's future leaders and problem-solvers.

To every mentor, volunteer, partner, and participant who made this event a success: thank you. The journey to a healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable society starts with moments like these.

🚀 What a week at the SMART STEM ACADEMY! 🚀
Before we dive into this week's new adventures, let’s do a quick recap of the massive learning that took place last week! Our participants have been absolutely crushing it across multiple fields:
🌱 Environmental Engineering: Mastered domestic waste management basics.
💡 Project Pitches: Teams stepped up to introduce themselves and their creative STEM project ideas.
🌐 Tech & Networking: Got hands-on with computer networking and built a working WLAN!
🌾 Agri-Tech: Discovered the future of farming with vertical farming techniques.
💻 Web Development: Coded their very first lines using HTML.
⚡ Electrical & Pharmaceutical Engineering: Explored the mechanics of power and medicine—with a special thank you to Pharmacist Vanessa Kerivan from God’s Grace Foundation!
🧠 Character Development: Ended on a high note with an empowering mindset and leadership workshop by Mabel Ashu , founder of Zion House.

🌟Igniting Young Minds: SMART STEM Academy Week 1 Highlights! 🚀🔬💡

The Association of Women into Science (ASOWOS) in partnership with WISE (Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship foundation) has officially kicked off our holiday program, and the energy has been absolutely electric! We were thrilled to welcome 35 brilliant young participants who spent the week diving headfirst into world-changing industries. 🧠✨

From configuring computer hardware to discovering smart farming, our students proved that the future of innovation is in excellent hands. Here is a look at what they mastered this week

Monday 6th:We set the stage with an exciting student orientation and welcomed our passionate team of volunteers. 🤝
Tuesday 7th:Sparking curiosity with hands-on Electrical Engineering challenges and an interactive session on using Artificial Intelligence. ⚡🤖
Wednesday 8th: Blending tradition with tech through an introduction to agriculture alongside practical skills in Computer Maintenance. 🖥️🌾
Thursday 9th:Going deeper into sustainable solutions with a focused workshop on Agricultural Engineering. 🚜🌱
Friday 10th: Looking ahead to tomorrow's tech with an introductory class on Machine Learning! 📊💻
