HER Voice Fund Site Support Visits to Grantee Organizations
As part of the activities for country lead for project in Cameroon, We visited Sustainable Women Organization (SWO), Common Action for Gender Development (COMAGEND), and Youth Empowerment And Resilience Network YEARN to follow up on project activities and ensure their advocacy agency aligns with the country’s terms of reference.
Across the three organizations, AGYWs are gaining knowledge, building confidence, and leadership skills through community sessions, advocacy, drama therapy, health talks, menstrual hygiene activities, and engagement with local authorities. Girls are increasingly speaking up about issues that affect them, including gender-based violence, health, and their rights.
The visits also highlighted the importance of community ownership, strong stakeholder partnerships, and flexible implementation. Despite challenges in the communities of implementation, grantees continue to adapt approaches and create meaningful opportunities for girls to participate and lead.
Together, these efforts are helping AGYWs make their voices heard and contribute to safer, more supportive communities.
