Speech by the President General of Nkumu Fed Fed on the Occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026
Distinguished partners, respected members of Nkumu Fed Fed, our courageous and resilient women, especially the vulnerable women in our communities, ladies and gentlemen, accept warm greetings from me
It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you today as we join the rest of the world to celebrate International Women’s Day, on the theme, Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls a day dedicated to recognizing the strength, resilience, achievements, and contributions of women across the globe.
Today is not only a day of celebration, but also a moment of reflection. We reflect on how far we have come in the fight for gender equality, and more importantly, we renew our commitment to the journey that still lies ahead.
At Nkumu Fed Fed, our mission has always been clear: to support, empower, and uplift vulnerable women and girls in our communities. Many of the women we serve have faced difficult realities, poverty, displacement, gender-based violence, and social exclusion. Yet, despite these challenges, they continue to show incredible strength and determination to rebuild their lives and support their families.
To the vulnerable women gathered here today, I want you to know that you are not alone. Your struggles are seen, your voices matter, and your resilience inspires us every day. Nkumu Fed Fed exists because we believe that when women are empowered, families are strengthened, communities are transformed, and nations prosper.
To our dedicated members of Nkumu Fed Fed, I extend my heartfelt appreciation for your tireless commitment to this cause. Your work in the communities, supporting women, creating awareness, and advocating for justice and equality, continues to make a meaningful difference.
To our partners and supporters, we are grateful for your collaboration and trust. Your support allows us to expand our programs, provide training and opportunities for women, and continue advocating for the protection of women’s rights.
As we celebrate today, let us remember that empowering women is not just a women's issue; it is a community responsibility. We must continue to work together to create a society where women and girls can live free from violence, access education and economic opportunities, and participate fully in decision-making. Let today serve as a reminder that every woman deserves dignity, respect, and equal opportunities.
At Nkumu Fed Fed, we reaffirm our commitment to standing with vulnerable women, amplifying their voices, and working tirelessly to ensure that no woman is left behind.
As we move forward, let us continue to support one another, encourage one another, and build stronger communities where women can thrive.
To every woman here today: your strength is powerful, your voice is important, and your future is bright.
Happy International Women’s Day to you all.
