🌟 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡 𝙄 𝘼𝙢, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙄 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙 🌟

On Friday 17, October 20th, the Youth and Gender Initiative YOGI hosted an inspiring event to honour the International Day of the Girl Child, on the 2025 theme; "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝑰 𝑨𝒎, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝑰 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅."

Held at Nkweng in Bamenda III, the event brought together 14 girls who engaged in a day filled with fun games, empowering poems, and insightful lectures focused on building adolescent girls' rights as well leading the change in Climate naratives through tree planting.

Together, we celebrated the unique strengths of every girl and emphasized the importance of leadership and change in our communities. Let's continue to uplift and support our girls as they lead the change for a brighter future! 💪✨

In a world constantly grappling with conflict, whether internal or external, everyone is invited to become a 𝑷𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓.

Peace is a universal theme found in all religious teachings, underscoring its importance in achieving meaningful goals. Whether in families, meetings, communities, nations, or on a global scale, peace is essential for realizing our collective aspirations.🤝🏾🤝🏾

Thus, the theme for Peace Day 2025 calls on us all to "𝑨𝒄𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑷𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆." In every endeavor, let peace be our priority. We particularly urge political leaders to serve as peace ambassadors, especially in light of the rising number of wars and armed conflicts worldwide.❇🌍

Stand Up for Education: A Call to Action! 📚✊
Nine Years of Socio-Political Crisis! Nine Years of Education Under Attack!

The ongoing socio-political crisis in the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon has devastated countless lives, with education being the hardest hit. Thousands of students have been forced out of school, and many school-aged children have been displaced. Tragically, some cannot pursue their education because their families have lost loved ones or the means to support them.

In addition to the heartbreaking loss of life, schools have been destroyed, students have faced brutal violence, and teachers have suffered unimaginable hardships, including mutilations at the hands of non-state actors. Those who sought safety have often found themselves suspended from their jobs, further exacerbating the crisis.

As we enter the 2025-2026 school year, students have already lost two crucial weeks of classes, with no clear path to normalcy in sight. On September 9, 2025, the world commemorated the Day to Prevent Education from Attack under the theme: “Challenging Narratives, Reshaping Action.” Alarmingly, the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attacks reports a 44% rise in attacks on schools and a 20% increase in the military use of educational facilities by conflicting parties.

At the Youth and Gender Initiative (YOGI), we are uniting progressive voices to advocate for a safe and peaceful educational environment. Education is a fundamental right, and every student and educator deserves the opportunity to learn and teach without fear.

Let’s come together to amplify our message: Give peace and tranquility a chance!

✨ International Youth Day 2025 in Tubah! 🎉

On August 14, we joined the world to celebrate under the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.” 🌍 The event, held at the Divisional Office Tubah, brought together 28 vibrant youths who designed mini-projects on Education, Gender, Environment, and Peace. 💡🌱✊📚

With support from CNYC Tubah, GPmEDIA, and MINJEC Tubah, the day featured inspiring talks, group work, and a powerful pledge of support from the Divisional Officer, Mr. Massango Metougue Narcisse. 🙌

At YOGI, we believe in the power of young people to drive change locally for a sustainable future. 💪

🎉 Cᴇʟᴇʙʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ Sᴜᴄᴄᴇss ᴀɴᴅ Iᴍᴘᴀᴄᴛ ᴀᴛ YOGI! 🎉

In May 2024, the Youth and Gender Initiative (YOGI) proudly hosted the a 𝕊𝕋𝔼𝕄 𝔼𝕩𝕔𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕔𝕖 ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕘𝕖 for secondary school students in Bamenda. We were thrilled to see 27 enthusiastic participants showcase their talents and passion for STEM!

After a fierce competition, three outstanding students emerged as our top achievers:

We are overjoyed to announce that on August 1, 2025, the GCE Board released the official results, and our beneficiaries have excelled! Each of them scored 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 (5 𝑝𝑎𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠) at the Advanced Level, a true testament to their hard work and dedication.
