Activity Report on Restoring Trust and Leadership Cooperation within Anyajua Development and cultural Association through an improbable Dialogue

With support from a seed grant provided by Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC), ANYEA and Sisters Keepers convened a dialogue session to rebuild trust and strengthen leadership cooperation within the Anyajua Development and Cultural Association (ADCA). The event brought together 15 key stakeholders, including former and current executive members, CSO representatives, traditional and religious leaders, and youth representatives.

Through interactive icebreakers and open discussions, participants freely expressed grievances, identified the root causes of internal divisions, and jointly proposed practical solutions. The dialogue was marked by openness, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to addressing structural and operational challenges.

The session successfully restored communication among previously estranged members, including Ntemnyan, and laid a foundation for stronger collaboration, peace, and community development. It concluded with appreciation to Local Youth Corner Cameroon for its support and a call for continued dialogue initiatives to sustain trust, unity, and collective progress.

In today’s fast-moving digital world, information spreads like wildfire/fast, bright, and sometimes dangerously out of control. Fact-checking before sharing is essential because not everything we see online is true. False information can mislead people, damage reputations, and even cause panic or conflict within communities.

By taking a moment to verify sources, cross-check facts, and ensure credibility, we become responsible digital citizens. It helps protect others from being misinformed and preserves trust in online spaces. In a world where anyone can publish anything, the simple act of fact-checking becomes a powerful tool for truth.

Sharing accurate information is not just a habit,it is a responsibility.

In August 2025, the Anyajua Youth Empowerment Association (ANYEA) organized a practical entrepreneurial skills training for 10 young adolescent girls in the City of Bamenda prior to the organisation's AGM under the coordination of Madam Futsi Chiara. The initiative aimed to empower young girls with income generating skills in response to rising financial dependency and economic violence affecting many women and girls in the community. During the training, participants learned how to produce peanuts, fish rolls, and other pastries, with emphasis on hygiene, packaging, and basic marketing. They were encouraged to start small businesses with minimal capital as a pathway toward financial independence and self reliance.

The training provided the participants with practical knowledge and renewed confidence to engage in small scale entrepreneurship. One participant shared that the skills learned had given her the confidence to start selling fish rolls in her neighborhood to support herself and assist her family. Another trainee noted that the program opened her eyes to opportunities around her and motivated her to start small and gradually grow her business. These testimonies reflected the positive impact the initiative had on the participants.

The activity demonstrated that empowering adolescent girls with practical livelihood skills can significantly contribute to reducing financial vulnerability and improving their ability to meet personal needs. A key lesson from the training was that community based skill development programs, especially those facilitated by experienced women mentors like Madam Futsi Chiara, play an important role in strengthening the economic resilience of young women and promoting sustainable development within the community.
