Pourquoi une loi spécifique avec toute la panoplie de lois existantes déjà au Cameroun ?

L'incapacité des lois actuelles notamment le code pénal à nommer et punir la violence domestique, des faibles peines de prison pour des faits de viol, les restrictions de l'article 360 sur l'inceste et l'absence d'un code de la famille sont l'une des racines de l'impunité face aux violences sexuelles et sexistes dans notre pays.

Adopter une loi spécifique sur les violences sexuelles et sexistes c'est donner à la justice et aux services d'accompagnement des victimes de violences basées sur le genre les outils afin prévenir de manière efficace et durable les violences sexuelles et sexistes au Cameroun.

Du jugement en première instance avec une condamnation de 05 ans de prison avec sursis dans l'affaire battue à mort par son mari , à des peines de 05 ans de prison ferme pour des auteurs de viols même sur mineures.

Les limites de la loi actuelle autour de la lutte contre l'impunité et la prévention des violences sexuelles et sexistes au Cameroun sont une évidence, c'est pourquoi depuis 2023 notre collectif StopFéminicides237 est engagé pour une réforme des lois afin d'apporter une réponse ferme de nos institutions face à ce type de violences.

Bien plus qu'une réforme, l'adoption et la promulgation d'une loi contre les violences sexuelles et sexistes sont un engagement indispensable pour résolument protéger chaque victime de violences.

c'est un rappel qu'une loi adaptée protègerait chaque femme et fille face à la violence .

Comme de coutume chaque année, le collectif StopFéminicides237 se mobilise du 20 au 31 Juillet pour porter nos voix et notre plaidoyer contre les violences faites aux femmes et aux filles au Cameroun notamment les féminicides.

Au programme plusieurs actions parmi lesquels:
-Campagne digitale
- table ronde
-marche militante
-point de presse

Mentorship is one of the most under-resourced tools in girls' education and one of the most powerful.

At She Can Excel, education and mentorship sit at the centre of our work. Academic learning gives girls knowledge. Mentorship gives them direction, perspective, and the belief that someone further along the path believes in them too.

We've seen firsthand how a single consistent mentor can shift the trajectory of a young girl's life not through grand gestures, but through showing up, listening, and guiding.

This month, we're unpacking the four values that anchor everything we do at She Can Excel: Confidence, Empowerment, Inclusion, and Respect. We're starting with Confidence.

At She Can Excel, confidence isn't treated as a trait some girls are simply born with; it's a skill we build, intentionally, through mentorship, practice, and consistent encouragement.

A girl who is taught that her voice matters in a classroom is more likely to use that voice in a boardroom years later. Confidence is the foundation everything else is built on.

Leadership isn't something girls grow into by accident, it's something they're given the room to practice.

One of She Can Excel's core areas of intervention is leadership and civic participation. We work to ensure adolescent girls and young women aren't just observers in their communities, but active participants in decision-making spaces, in dialogue, and in shaping the issues that affect them.

Confidence built in adolescence becomes leadership in adulthood. The earlier girls are given a seat at the table, the more naturally they grow into the leaders our communities need.

📢 Réforme UN80 : votre participation compte
Alors que des discussions sont en cours sur l'avenir du système des Nations Unies, y compris autour d'une éventuelle fusion entre UNFPA et ONU Femmes, il est essentiel que les organisations féministes d'Afrique francophone puissent s'informer, échanger et faire entendre leurs perspectives.

C'est dans cette dynamique que le Reseau des jeunes feministes d'Afrique Centrale (REJEFEMAC), aux côtés de Fòs Feminista Org , Femnet Secretariat et du Women’s Major Group, invite les organisations féministes, associations de jeunesse, activistes et organisations de la société civile à participer à une session stratégique d'échange sur les enjeux et implications du processus UN80.

Cette rencontre permettra de :

🔹 Partager les informations actuellement disponibles ;

🔹 Échanger sur les préoccupations et attentes des organisations de la région ;
