Every month, millions of girls are expected to “just cope.”

But what happens when coping becomes silence?

Menstruation is not a weakness.

It is not something to hide.

It is not something to be ashamed of.

Yet, for many girls, especially in underserved communities, periods still mean:

• Missed school days

• Embarrassment and isolation

• Lack of access to basic sanitary products

• Silence instead of support

And the truth is simple:

When we don’t talk about menstruation, we don’t solve the problem, we sustain it.

At UNIMAC (Universal Maidens Association of Cameroon), we believe that dignity should never pause because of a period.

That’s why this May, we continue to raise awareness, break the silence, and advocate for:

Period education

Access to sanitary products

Safe spaces for girls to learn and speak freely

Because a girl should never have to choose between her dignity and her education.

This conversation is not just about periods.

It is about equality, confidence, and opportunity.

P.S. What is one thing you wish more people understood about menstruation?

No girl should feel ashamed of a natural part of being a woman.

Periods are natural.
Shame, silence, and stigma shouldn’t be.

For many girls and women, menstruation is still surrounded by embarrassment, lack of education, and limited access to proper hygiene products.

And sadly, some young girls even miss school because of it.

At Universal Maidens Association of Cameroon, we believe conversations around menstrual health matter because every girl deserves dignity, confidence, education, and support.

Menstruation is not weakness.
It is not something to hide.
It is a normal part of womanhood.

This month, let’s continue to:

👉Educate girls about menstrual health
👉Break harmful stigmas
👉Encourage open conversations
👉Advocate for menstrual hygiene access for every girl

When girls are informed, supported, and empowered, they thrive without shame or limitations.

Let’s normalize the conversation ❤️

What if access is the only thing standing between a girl and her future?

Some dreams don’t die because of lack of passion.

They fade because no one ever gave them a chance.

Every day, thousands of young girls carry big dreams in small spaces limited by circumstances they didn’t choose.

At UNIMAC, we are changing that narrative.

Through education, digital skills, and community support, we are helping girls rise beyond limitations and step into possibilities they once thought were out of reach.

Because empowerment is not a luxury.
It is a necessity.

And every girl deserves the chance to become everything she was created to be.

👉Be part of the impact.
👉Support the mission.
👉Help us reach more girls.

The future is brighter when we lift others as we rise.

P.S. What’s one skill you believe every young girl should learn today?

WELCOME TO A NEW MONTH A NEW CHAPTER OF IMPACT

A new month isn’t just a change in dates
It’s a reminder that we have another chance to show up, to serve, and to make a difference where it truly matters.

At UNIMAC, every new month renews our commitment to one thing:

📍Empowering the girl child.

Because somewhere right now, a young girl is:

👉 Hoping for access to education
👉 Dreaming of a better future
👉 Waiting for someone to believe in her

And that “someone” can be all of us.

This month, we are choosing:

📍Purpose over comfort
📍Action over silence
📍Impact over excuses

We are not just building a community We are shaping futures, restoring hope, and raising a generation of confident, empowered young women.

Let this month be intentional.
Let it be impactful.
Let it count.

Together, we can do more.
Together, we can reach further.

Real impact starts within communities not from a distance.

On April 29, 2026, UNIMAC was represented in Bamenda at a Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE), convened by UNFPA.

The focus?

Shifting from national frameworks to localized, community-driven solutions (ABC approach) especially in the Northwest and Southwest regions.

Key conversations highlighted challenges like limited resources, access constraints, and coordination gaps but more importantly, a shared commitment to improve.

Through our representative, Ms. Carista Kenfak Nkwenti, UNIMAC reaffirmed its commitment to:

📍Supporting vulnerable women and girls
📍Strengthening partnerships
📍Driving sustainable, community-led impact

Localization isn’t just a strategy it’s the future.

👉 Partner with us
👉 Support our mission
👉 Share to amplify this message

P.S. What’s one change you’d like to see in humanitarian response within local communities?

Building Unity Through Diversity 🌍

Change begins when communities come together to learn, listen, and grow.

We are proud to share highlights from the Cultural Diversity and Tolerance Education Project Workshop held in Bamenda on 22/04/2026 at Nche Street (Faith Building).

This impactful initiative is supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Goethe-Institut and implemented by three dedicated organizations:

📍REVACAM – Southwest Region
📍UNIMAC – Northwest Region
📍COHEB – Far North Region

At UNIMAC, we believe that educating communities on cultural diversity and tolerance is a powerful step toward peace, understanding, and national unity.

Together, we are creating spaces where differences are respected, voices are heard, and harmony can thrive.

Join us in promoting unity, tolerance, and inclusion in our communities.

We talk a lot about empowering girls but are we also protecting their peace of mind?

Empowerment is not only about education and opportunities it is also about well-being.

A confident girl needs a healthy mind, a safe environment, and the freedom to express herself without fear.

When we prioritize mental health, self-worth, and emotional support, we help girls grow into strong and resilient women.

This Wednesday, let’s remember to check in, speak kindly, and create spaces where every girl feels seen, heard, and valued.

Because empowered girls don’t just survive they thrive.

Follow UNIMAC, share this message, and join us in creating a world where every girl can thrive.

Monday Update from Maroua, Cameroon 🌍

This past week in Maroua, something powerful happened.

Through the DREAM Project (Digital Resilience, Entrepreneurship Access, Mentorship and Sustainability for Vulnerable Women), we gathered with women aged 18–35 to learn, share, and grow together.

It wasn’t just a workshop.

It was women asking questions about their future.

It was first-time digital lessons turning into confidence.

It was conversations about business ideas, survival, and possibility.

We explored digital skills, entrepreneurship basics, and what it truly means to be financially aware in today’s world.

And while the energy was strong, so were the realities:
limited access to devices, language barriers, and the need for more practical learning time.

But one thing stood out clearly these women are ready.

And with the right support, mentorship, and access, their potential is undeniable.

This is why the DREAM Project exists to bridge that gap between where they are and what they can become.

Education without skills is not enough in today’s world.

We must go beyond traditional learning and equip girls with practical skills that prepare them for real opportunities.

Skills create independence.
Skills create confidence.
Skills create leaders.

Let’s build a generation of skilled girls.

P.S.: Do you agree that schools should teach more digital skills?

What if the key to peace is simply understanding each other better? 🌍

On April 8, 2026, UNIMAC joined REVACAM and COHEB in Buea for a Capacity Building Workshop focused on promoting cultural diversity and tolerance across Cameroon.

Bringing together teachers and youth leaders, the session wasn’t just informative it was transformative.

Through interactive discussions on peacebuilding, inclusion, and intercultural dialogue, participants were equipped to become stronger agents of change in their communities.

📍Deeper understanding of diversity

📍Strengthened capacity for conflict prevention

📍Renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence

At UNIMAC, we believe peace starts with education and intentional action and this is just the beginning.

👉 Join us in building communities where diversity is celebrated, not divided.

Not every girl needs saving…but every girl deserves access.

The problem isn’t a lack of dreams.

The problem is a lack of opportunities.

Every day, thousands of young girls are ready to learn, ready to grow, ready to become more.

But they’re held back by what they don’t have access to.

No digital skills.
No mentorship.
No exposure to what’s possible.

And in today’s world, that gap is everything.

At UNIMAC, we are not just “helping” girls

We are equipping them with real, relevant skills that prepare them for the future.

Because empowerment is not just a word it’s a system.

A system that gives girls the power to earn, to lead, and to thrive.

And the truth is…

When you invest in a girl’s growth, you invest in a stronger society.

This Friday, choose to be part of something bigger than you.

👉 Follow UNIMAC, share this message, and support our mission to empower the next generation of girls.
