Awareness is good, but ACTION is what saves lives. 🛑💪

The fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cannot end with sensitization and advocacy alone. We can keep highlighting the evils of GBV, but if we aren't talking about practical ways to end it, nothing changes.

True advocacy requires a call to action. Here is how we can take a stand practically:

📞 Report cases of GBV immediately—never look the other way.

⚖️ Expose perpetrators and demand accountability.
❤️ Protect survivors and provide them with the necessary support to heal.

Let’s move from words to action. True justice is active, not passive. 🤝

Abstinence is key to protecting bright futures! 🔑✨
Early and teenage pregnancies can drastically disrupt a young girl's life, leaving deep, lasting consequences on her education, health, and future opportunities.

Educating our adolescents on the value of abstinence and the risks of early sexual activity is a responsibility we all share. While we continue to champion this message as an organization, we believe that you as parents, mentors, and community members play the most vital role in guiding these young ones.

Let’s work together to protect our youth and help them make safe choices! 🤝❤️

Safe Choices, Bright Futures! ✨

Ensuring that the youth and adolescents in our communities can grow and develop safely is absolutely essential for their future.

In a society still heavily influenced by patriarchal norms and exploitation across generations, the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) is more critical than ever.

We cannot back down. We must keep fighting to ensure a future free from GBV—a future rooted in true gender justice! ⚖️💪

The Rural and Urban Grassroots Business Women Association - Rugbwa took part in a workshop organized by TeenAlive - Cameroon and Women in Action Against Gender Based Violence-Cameroon , with vital technical support from the UNFPA Cameroon . The focus was entirely on Gender Transformative Approaches to Ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Moving past basic biology, the sessions dove deep into understanding gender as a dynamic social concept, uncovering the roots of rigid gender roles, and exploring why dismantling them is essential for true equality. It wasn’t just about addressing the symptoms of inequality, but about equipping advocates with the tools to challenge harmful societal norms and drive deep, systemic transformation from the grassroots up.

True change begins when we move from awareness to active commitment. By the end of the workshop, every participant took concrete commitments to actively tackle the root causes of GBV and foster environments where equity can thrive. To build a world free from violence, we must continuously challenge old patterns, re-write outdated narratives, and advocate for systemic justice. The journey toward a safer, more equitable society requires all of us, and these collective commitments mark a vital step forward in that mission.

Our intensive five-day GBV case management and referral training officially wrapped up at the Capitol Hotel in Buea, concluding an incredibly impactful week of learning, capacity building, and collaboration. In our final sessions, we tackled critical yet frequently overlooked dimensions of case management: addressing the unique needs of male survivors, dismantling the societal and systemic barriers that prevent men from accessing support services, and the vital role of provider self-care to prevent burnout on the front lines.

We rounded off this journey with a unified, unwavering commitment to the fight against Gender-Based Violence in the Northwest and Southwest regions. Moving forward, our absolute priority remains ensuring that every single survivor is safely guided toward healing and reintegration, ensuring our interventions do no harm and never expose them to further danger. Huge thanks to TeenAlive - Cameroon , Women in Action Against Gender Based Violence-Cameroon , and UNFPA Cameroon for providing this timely and vital platform to strengthen our protection landscape. 🧡

21/06/2026

The Survivor-Centered Approach and the intricate dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) remain critical cornerstones of effective Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case management. IPV is widely recognized as one of the most complex and sensitive cases to handle due to heightened safety risks and deep emotional dynamics. In navigating these complexities, upholding strict confidentiality and ensuring safe, timely referrals are absolute lifelines. These core principles are essential not only for protecting survivors from further harm but also for fostering the trust needed to heal their pain and support their journey back to their full, independent selves.

Frontline experts are actively building their capacities and strengthening their character to handle these complex cases within the Northwest and Southwest regions. This critical initiative is very timely, equipping advocates with the tools to provide life-saving support despite the ongoing security challenges and insurgency in both regions. Immense gratitude goes to TeenAlive - Cameroon and Women in Action Against Gender Based Violence-Cameroon , with vital technical support from UNFPA Cameroon , for making this essential capacity-building possible and fortifying the protection landscape for vulnerable communities. 🧡
