What a glorious celebration in Lebialem! The Rural and Urban Grassroot Business women's Association (RUGBWA) proudly marched alongside the vibrant women of the South West to honor the 115th International Women’s Day.

Aligned with the 2026 theme, "Rights, Justice, and Action," we carried messages of hope: “Empower a Woman, Transform a Community.” From demand for justice against GBV to advocating for girls' education, our presence was a call to move beyond words into real action. When we protect women’s rights, we defend humanity.
Together, we lead, learn, and succeed! ✊🏾✨

♀️ On March 6, the Rural and Urban Grassroots Business Women’s Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment (MINPROFF), hosted a transformative workshop in Menji to kick off the 115th International Women’s Day celebrations. Guided by the 2026 theme, "Rights, Justice, and Action for All Women and Girls," the session empowered mothers and daughters of Lebialem to reclaim their status as leaders and change-makers.

Our discussions tackled the 36% global gap in legal rights, focusing on dismantling local barriers like limited land ownership, early marriage, and gender-based violence (GBV). By educating the grassroots on legal and economic participation, we reinforced that justice is not just a concept, but a community-wide responsibility that includes holding perpetrators accountable and supporting survivors. Because when we move beyond words into collective action, educating our girls and sharing leadership, we don't just empower women; we transform the entire nation. ✊🏾✨

Strengthening Our Impact for 2026! 🚀
We just wrapped up an intensive two-day workshop (December 16–17) in Bankomo-Yaoundé, focused on building the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Grand South of Cameroon.
Organized by Horizon Femme in partnership with Search for Common Ground, this training was a deep dive into organizational excellence. As we plan for the upcoming year, the timing couldn't be more perfect!
What We Covered:
✅ Identifying organizational weaknesses and priority needs.
✅ Reviewing legal obligations, internal structures, and administrative manuals.
✅ Introduction to Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tools.
🔘 Deepening M&E data collection and project management.
🔘 Institutional communication and public relations.
🔘 Strategic resource mobilization for long-term impact.

This workshop provided us with the practical tools needed to improve our communication, efficiency, and community impact. We are ready to enter the new year stronger and more professional than ever!
