This is how the Bafut Development Manjong, headed by its President who is a bonafide member of Bafut Elite Association, BELA, Mr. Chebienka'a Leslie, welcomed Pope Leo XIV.

In a historic moment, the Paramount Fon of Bafut, HRH Fon Abumbi II met with the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church and President of the Vatican City, Pope Leo XIV, this morning, at the Bamenda International Airport located in Nsoh-Bafut. Also present at the occasion were the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atlanta Nji, Governor of the Northwest Region Adolf Lele L'Afrique, Paramount Fon of Mankon, HRM Fon Fru Asaah Angwafo IV, amongst other dignitaries and elites.

The brief exchange at the welcome of the Pontiff to the town preceded the large public Mass at the airport ground. Earlier, the Pope held a Peace Meeting with community leaders from the region.

It is worthy of note that Bafut is one of the areas badly hit by the anglophone crisis, and the airport in question has been almost non-operational since the beginning of the crisis in 2016.

Choosing to visit Bamenda during this crisis period has great significance in the hearts of the Bafut community and Bamenda people at large, as it signals that their cries have reached far and wide, and their calls for peace are not being ignored by the international community.

The Bafut Elite wishes the Pope a heartwarming stay, and look forward to an accelerated peace-building outcome that can put a lasting end to the devastating war going on in the anglophone regions.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the books, "1 Student 1 Entrepreneur" and "Entrepreneurial Universities in Cameroon," by one of ours, Mr. Mofor George.

The first book provides guidelines to enable students and youths to set up businesses and achieve financial independence early in life, while the second aims to explore the crucial role that higher education institutions play in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in our communities.

Mr. Mofor George, PMP, is a seasoned entrepreneur and project management professional based in Buea, Cameroon. His entrepreneurial journey began in 1989 when he opened a grocery shop in his hometown, a decision that marked the start of his commitment to business and development. Rather than pursuing education at the then sole University of Yaoundé, he focused on practical experience, which led him to co-found a non-governmental organization (FOREP) dedicated to youth development. This initiative fueled his passion for entrepreneurship and community upliftment.

Mofor is a graduate of the Pan-African Institute for Development in West Africa (PAID-WA), and his expertise extends to business consultancy, with focus on entrepreneurship and project management, under his firm, GM Consult-PMO. With a solid academic foundation, he also imparts knowledge as Lecturer at the Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) and the CHITECHMA University Institute in Buea, where he has inspired many aspiring entrepreneurs. His work and insights position him as a leading voice in the entrepreneurial landscape of Cameroon and beyond.

We invite you to join the author, as he will share insights from his journey and discuss the importance of empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, alongside other prolific academicians, entrepreneurs and corporate experts.

The launch details are as follows:

Date: September 20th, 2025
Venue: Biaka University Auditorium

Feel free to share and spread the word! 📚✨
