In fact, their highly acidic stomachs can kill dangerous pathogens🦠, including bacteria and viruses, reducing the risk of outbreaks like rabies and anthrax among other wildlife and even humans. As nature's clean-up crew, vultures also play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.
But vultures don't just clean up the environment - they also take great care of their own hygiene. These birds groom and preen their feathers regularly, and some species even preen each other as part of their social bonding rituals. Many vulture species also enjoy taking regular baths and sunbathing🌞 to keep their plumage in top condition.
