Tourism, sailing, and rescue of the heritage of the seashore shipyards carpenters of Chiloé and the Lancha Chilota. Nuestro proyecto consiste en el rescate patrimonial del oficio de los astilleros de ribera de Chiloé y alrededores, mediante la aplicación de un sistema de turismo sustentable, que contará con dos líneas de acción:
1- Habilitación de talleres astilleros, para convertirse en micro mus
eos temáticos, donde se enseñará sobre este oficio centenario.
2- Motivar a cada uno de los astilleros elegidos a construir una lancha chilota a vela tradicional, para ofrecer tours de navegación patrimonial. Con esto, ademas de rescatar este oficio de la extinción, se abre la posibilidad a turistas como tu y yo, a navegar de manera tradicional en aguas únicas y endémica de la zona, óptimas para la navegación a vela, que actualmente es privilegio de unos pocos. Our mission is to rescue the heritage that involves the carpenters and their seashore shipyards in Chiloé, Chile, and their original design of the Lancha Chilota a Vela (the sailing boat, used by the Chilotes (people from Chiloé), to transport wood, animals, and their whole families). To accomplish our mission we will install a sustainable tourism system, which will work with two fundaments:
1. Habilitation of 6 traditional shore shipyards, to become themed micro museums, where tourists will be able to learn and participate in this centennial profession.
2. Motivate each of this seashore shipyard carpenters to build a Lancha Chilota a Vela, so they can offer traditional sailing tours. With this project, besides rescuing this heritage from extinction, a new opportunity is opened: Tourist like you and me will be able to sail in beautiful and unique shores, with the best views and accompanied with endemic species, privilege that now a days just few people have access to.
