🇲🇬 Irinomenjanahary Randrianjafy
Her Erasmus+ mobility in Germany marked her very first experience abroad — a journey that deeply influenced her academic and personal growth. Through practical, hands-on learning at Koblenz University, she strengthened her research skills and perspective. Today, as a PhD graduate and lecturer in Madagascar, she is giving back by enriching the education of future generations with the knowledge she gained.

🇨🇲Theophilus Nang Wakai
His Erasmus+ experience in Poland was filled with meaningful firsts — from his first flight to publishing his first scientific paper. Immersed in academic and cultural exchange, he actively engaged in research, networking, and student leadership. His journey continues through advanced studies and ongoing collaboration, reflecting a lasting impact beyond mobility.

🇰🇪 Bennittes Kipyegon George
As an exchange scholar in MSc Environmental Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, Bennittes engaged in interdisciplinary learning and research collaboration while experiencing German culture. His journey strengthened his commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, wastewater management, and community-led conservation.

🇩🇿 Ilhem Bendahmane
During her PhD journey, Ilhem participated in an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility in spring 2021. The experience broadened her perspective, encouraged her to think beyond borders, and allowed her to build lasting friendships across cultures — a life-changing academic and personal journey.

🌍 Erasmus+ Cultivates the Future in Madagascar 🌱

On January 30–31, 2026, at the University of Antananarivo, more than 250 young people gathered at the initiative of the local network of the African Students Alumni Forum (ASAF) Madagascar to explore the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme and to take concrete action for the environment.

🎓 Inspiring testimonials, dedicated mentorship (10 mentors mobilized), and the creation of a local Erasmus+ ambassadors network.
🌿 143 fruit trees and flowering plants were planted to rehabilitate the campus botanical garden, in connection with SDGs 6 and 13.

Beyond an event, it sparked a lasting momentum: connecting academic ambition, civic engagement, and climate action.

ASAF Mauritania’s Participation in the Erasmus Information Day 🇲🇷

The Co-Ambassador of ASAF in Mauritania, along with several members of ASAF Mauritania, participated in an information day dedicated to the Erasmus programmes. The event was organized by the Delegation of the European Union in Mauritania and took place in the conference hall of the French Institute in Mauritania.

In his speech, the Co-Ambassador highlighted the crucial role of the Erasmus programme in improving the quality of higher education, particularly in Africa, as well as in strengthening cultural exchanges between countries. He also presented the objectives, mission, and organizational structure of ASAF.

He reaffirmed the readiness of the ASAF Mauritania team to take part in any initiative or event aimed at promoting and enhancing the impact of the Erasmus programmes in Mauritania.

🌍 ASAF Drives Green Entrepreneurship in Mozambique 🌱

On 10–11 December 2025, ASAF successfully led the Initiative for Green Entrepreneurship and Community Environmental Action in Maputo, Mozambique 🇲🇿

Over two impactful days, 200 participants — including ASAF members, youth, students, local residents, and institutional representatives — came together to restore public spaces in the Xipamanine and Fajardo neighborhoods.

✨ What we achieved:
✔️ Restoration of two public spaces
✔️ 16 hours of voluntary service by ASAF members
✔️ Practical training on waste management and recycling
✔️ Development of a community environmental action plan
✔️ Creation of a network of local environmental champions

This initiative combined environmental restoration, entrepreneurship training, and EU awareness, creating a replicable model for sustainable community impact.

Together, we are empowering communities, fostering green business opportunities, and driving positive change across Africa. 💚

🌍🌱 Empowering Youth Through Agroecology in West Africa!

On 28–29 November 2025, the GLEGAN Project brought together students, young professionals, researchers, and development actors in Lomé, Togo, for a transformative training under the EU Global Gateway Initiative.

This regional initiative connecting Togo and Benin is strengthening sustainable agriculture, boosting climate resilience, and empowering youth to lead the agroecological transition in West Africa.

💡 Participants explored:

EU-funded scholarship and mobility opportunities

Climate-smart agriculture practices
Soil & water conservation strategies
Biodiversity protection
Integration of indigenous ecological knowledge

Through interactive workshops and cross-border dialogue, GLEGAN is not only enhancing technical skills but also building a new generation of informed, climate-conscious agricultural leaders.

By linking education, sustainability, and regional cooperation, the project reflects the EU’s commitment to inclusive and resilient rural development.

Together, we are cultivating knowledge, cooperation, and a greener future for West Africa. 🌿✨
