Beyond Davos: what the headlines missed — Asia Brief | January 2026 is out During World Economic Forum week, the world felt more position-driven and less solution-driven. Common ground is harder to find—yet business, technology, and society are moving faster than governance can keep up. That’s...

RE-WIRING THE WORLD | SwissCham ASIA @ WEF Week 2026

On 21 January 2026, during the World Economic Forum week in Davos–Klosters, this high-level, closed-door dialogue was jointly organized by SwissCham ASIA and Singularity Academy in Klosters, Switzerland.

More than 50 leaders from Asia and Europe—including CEOs, policymakers, diplomats, and scholars—gathered for a candid, system-level exchange under Chatham House rules.

Rather than keynote speeches or formal panels, the dialogue focused on four fundamental questions shaping today’s global system:
• Sovereignty vs. Interdependence
• Technology vs. Governance
• Capital vs. Credibility
• Demography vs. Productivity

The discussion was in-depth and truly dialogic—everyone in the room was a “super brain,” contributing not only opinions, but also what is happening, why it matters, and what we can do next.

📌 What’s next
Key insights from this dialogue will be further developed into research-based outputs, ensuring the exchange continues beyond Davos week and contributes to long-term, actionable thinking.

Grateful to all the great minds in the room—your openness, depth, and system-level thinking made this dialogue truly meaningful.

More photos to enjoy with the dialogue.

SwissCham ASIA 2026 New Year Greetings

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham ASIA,

As we step into 2026, we send you our warmest New Year greetings—and our sincere appreciation for your trust, participation, and partnership throughout 2025.

2025 was not a year of incremental change—it was a year the world reshuffled. As reflected in the Asia Brief (https://shorturl.at/VQZxH) | December 2025 Issue, the global landscape moved decisively toward a more fragmented, multipolar, and strategically complex reality. Trade protectionism, geopolitical realignments, technology rivalry, and climate pressures accelerated shifts in supply chains, investment logic, and policy priorities. In this environment, SwissCham ASIA has stayed focused on what matters most: helping our members read the signals early, connect with the right counterparts, and make better decisions across Switzerland–Asia—and beyond.

Against this backdrop, SwissCham ASIA strengthened its role as a high-trust platform for strategic dialogue and actionable insight:
* Connecting decision-makers: convening business leaders, diplomats, and institutions across Asia and Europe for timely exchange.
* Building thought leadership: translating complexity into clarity through briefings, engagements, and curated conversations.
* Strengthening our community: reinforcing a network where relationships are built for the long term—beyond headlines and cycles.
* Standing on collective support: our sincere thanks go to all supporting stakeholders of SwissCham ASIA—our members, partners, and friends from Asia and Switzerland—whose commitment, engagement, and trust have been essential to our path and impact in 2025.

A key pillar of our knowledge offering remains the Asia Brief, our flagship analytical publication (scholarly supported by Singularity Academy). The December 2025 Issue provides a structured annual overview across Switzerland, Asian countries, and column reports, capturing the political, economic, and cultural dynamics shaping the new operating environment. Its special Column Report—“2025: The Year the World Reshuffled”—offers a clear lens on the forces now redefining global order and regional strategy.

Looking ahead: Davos Week 2026—an invitation-only dialogue in DavosKlosters, SwitzerlandTo open 2026 with depth and direction, SwissCham ASIA is organizing a high-end, invitation-only “Diplomatic, Business & Thinkers Dialogue” on 21 January 2026, during WEF Davos Week, in the Davos–Klosters region. This curated gathering will convene senior leaders for candid, off-the-record conversations on the forces shaping the next global order—and what they mean for strategy, competitiveness, and cooperation. Further details and formal invitations will be shared shortly.
In times like these, the advantage belongs to those who combine strategic clarity with trusted relationships. We look forward to continuing this journey with you—building meaningful bridges, enabling smarter decisions, and shaping constructive pathways between Switzerland and Asia in 2026.
Wishing you and your families a successful, healthy, and inspiring New Year.

Warm regards,SwissCham ASIA
