changing lives

Mehrmals jährlich (in der Regel 7x) sind wir selber vor Ort und überzeugen uns, dass die Projekte optimal laufen, das Geld richtig eingesetzt wird und der Ausbau sinnvoll ist. changing lives is a foundation based in Zurich, Switzerland with a mission to help disadvantaged Cambodian children. the foundation was created in 2009 after Bruno Gschwind visited Cambodia and saw the awful conditions that poor children were living in firsthand. changing lives works hand-in-hand with people on the ground in Cambodia by providing funding to projects that inspire and help those that have a chance for a life with dignity. Since its inception we have seen tremendous changes in the young people we help, the overall effectiveness of the NGOs we support, and an increased level of hope in the communities where we work.

One of our board members, Céline, recently visited our learning centers in Uganda to assess how our training programs are running in Kampala.

We are truly impressed by the remarkable progress our students are making.

We can’t wait to see them in their gowns as this year’s cohort graduates this month.

Some call it Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we call it agility to respond where the need is most urgent and immediate.

It's another year, and we continue a tradition that may be relatively new, but has quickly become part of us, stretching beyond our core mission of transforming lives to also saving them when it matters most.

This flexibility means our work sometimes extends from development into humanitarian assistance, because we believe these two are deeply interconnected. Often, one naturally leads to the other.

Most recently, we supported Faith in Uganda with a donation to cover her medical expenses.

This assistance enabled her to access the long overdue treatment and medication she urgently needed but could not afford.

Thanks to this support, her condition has significantly improved.

We join her family and community in wishing her a speedy and complete recovery.

Meet Sharon from Uganda, the owner of MOMO Hair Mastery, a mobile salon business she launched with the skills she gained from the training in our hairdressing and cosmetology program. Today, she earns a living doing what she loves.

In a country where youth unemployment remains among the highest, even those with the right education often struggle to find decent jobs.

At changing-lives, we believe the solution lies not only in finding jobs, but in creating them.

That’s why we go beyond teaching hard skills. We nurture entrepreneurial mindsets among young people.

Through our programs in vocational fields, we’re championing social entrepreneurship by empowering youth to start and sustain businesses.

It turns out that true change begins when young people stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them.
