Novel interventions in the treatment of lipid transfer protein (LTP) allergy
“LTP allergy is a complex disease, not only due to the number of foods involved, but also to the disease evolution and underlying mechanisms. The outcomes of current treatments focus not only on controlling the disease in the short term during administration, but also on the long term to modify the nature of the disease after discontinuation, as well as to prevent new sensitisation and comorbidities. Novel approaches of specific immunotherapy in LTP allergy, based on nanostructures (dendrimeric structures or mesoporous nanoparticles) and the epicutaneous administration via microneedles, increase efficacy and safety of ITA.”

What to do with non-releases in BAT?
“Non-releasers in the basophil activation test complicate the calculation of BAT diagnostic metrics in the clinical setting. This session explores the underlying causes for the absence of basophil degranulation and proposes practical diagnostic algorithms to facilitate clinical interpretation. Attendees will be introduced to a standardised nomenclature designed to consistently report and integrate inconclusive BAT results into diagnostic performance metrics.”

Non-IgE-mediated food allergy – an EAACI guideline
“Following on the publication of EAACI clinical guidelines on IgE-mediated food allergy diagnosis and management, an expert group has conducted a systematic review of the literature to inform the new recommendations as part of the upcoming EAACI clinical guidelines on non-IgE mediated food allergy - this will be the focus of this plenary lecture.”
