I have been using it for four years with amazing results!!!

The Mexican stone mortar and pestle have names dating back to the Aztec world.

Molcajete comes from the Nahuatl word molcaxitl:
molli = sauce
caxitl = bowl
So it literally meant a “bowl for sauce”.

The pestle is called a tejolote, from the Nahuatl texolotl, meaning something close to “stone grinder”.

Long before modern blenders, these volcanic stone tools were used to grind chillies, spices, and make fresh salsas and guacamole by hand.
