The Lascaris Foundation is a family foundation established in Zurich as a non-profit organization aiming to protect, preserve, promote and strengthen Greek national identity through a variety of cultural, social and financial projects and programs. Its main areas of focus are education and culture, the reinforcement of border regions (especially islands), the development of Greek entrepreneurship
and the enhancement of social welfare. The Foundation is also dedicated and actively involved in the continued support of sports. In the field of Education and Culture, the Foundation plans to award scholarships to outstanding individuals who wish to enhance their academic knowledge and studies. Furthermore, the Foundation is affiliated with two of the leading Greek museums, the Cycladic Art Museum and the Benaki Museum, helping to promote history, tradition and art. Greek entrepreneurship is developed and encouraged by supporting Greek entrepreneurs and Greek business companies to realize their ideas and encourage innovation and creativity through the “Greek Creators” Initiative. Athletic endorsements include sponsorships for Greek national teams and Greek athletes as they prepare to qualify or have already qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Also, the Foundation is in the process of constructing new basketball and multi-purpose courts on remote islands and underdeveloped areas/municipalities.The Foundation is funded and developed by the Lascaris Investment Group, involved in shipping, banking and financial management, as well as Eurasia Mining and Trading, an international gold exploration company. Despite their international locations, these companies are dedicated to expanding Greek civilization and guiding it towards a new era of opportunities and ideas, motivated by their deep love and strong bond with Greece.
