🙏 Standing With Children Affected by the Devastating Floods in Nepal

Many of you reached out to us asking how you can help. Please see the links below for different currencies.
As we have done for 46 years, we guarantee that every donation reaches those suffering so deeply now as our own ROKPA staff prepare to travel to the affected areas to distribute the goods we are buying and collecting now.

We at ROKPA in Nepal and the President Lea Wyler held an emergency meeting to discuss how we can support and protect children affected by the devastating flash floods that have caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Sindhupalchok, and Chitwan, with many other communities also severely affected.

The disaster began in the northern areas around Rasuwa, near the Nepal–Tibet border, and the destruction has extended far downstream. Many lives have been lost, homes and buildings have been destroyed, and many people remain missing.

Among the most vulnerable are children who have been separated from their families or may have lost their parents and relatives. Some children are currently being cared for temporarily by the Nepali Army, municipalities, and other local authorities. As rescue and family-tracing efforts continue, there is a serious concern that some children may be left without anyone to care for them.

ROKPA - as always - helps where help is needed. ❤️

Our priority is to work closely with government authorities and local bodies to identify vulnerable children, trace their families wherever possible, and ensure that every child is protected and cared for.

Where children are confirmed to have lost their parents or have no safe family caregiver, ROKPA is prepared to provide a safe home, education, healthcare and emotional support.

At this heartbreaking moment, these children need more than emergency supplies — they need safety, love, stability, and hope.

ROKPA is committed to standing with these children and doing everything possible to help them rebuild their lives.

🙏 Every child deserves a safe home and a future.
❤️ ROKPA is ready to help! Together with YOU!❤️

Update on the Flood Disaster of August 26

Following the devastating mudslide, further flooding is feared. On the Nepalese side, a lake has formed at the mouth of a river, with an estimated two million cubic metres of water already accumulated. The built up stone dam is at serious risk of collapsing.

Rescue teams are also preparing for further rainfall in the coming days. Heavy rain could worsen the current situation and make rescue and relief efforts even more difficult.

The death toll from the flash floods in Nepal and China has now risen to at least 472, while more than 1,400 people are still missing, including numerous tourists and pilgrims.

We need your help. 🙏
Please consider making a donation to help us provide essential supplies such as water, food, medicine, and blankets to those affected.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a meaningful difference. ❤️

We Stand with the People of Rasuwa ❤️
Yesterday, August 26, 2026, a massive flash flood struck northern Nepal. The Rasuwa district, near the border and approximately 100 km from Boudha, is affected the most. The floods swept away houses and entire settlements, destroyed roads and bridges, and damaged the drinking water supply. Many people are missing, and entire regions are currently difficult to reach.
Our projects and staff are not directly affected; everyone is safe. However, family members of our staff and people connected to our projects live in the affected region. Our management in Nepal has already begun to assess and organize concrete ways to respond and provide support. Wherever help is needed, we want to take action. Now these plans must be put into action, and for that we rely on your support.
Donate now and help us provide those affected on the ground with water, food, medicine, and blankets, and stand by them during this difficult time. We will keep you informed as soon as we know more about the situation and our specific relief efforts.
