| Climate Change & Resilience |
In Ethiopia, climate change is putting increasing pressure on people, ecosystems and livelihoods. Irregular rainfall, prolonged droughts and land degradation are affecting both communities and the landscapes they depend on.
Pastoralism is part of the solution. Through seasonal livestock movement, rangeland restoration and sustainable pasture management, pastoralist communities help maintain soil fertility, protect biodiversity and strengthen the resilience of dryland ecosystems.
Together with local partners, HEKS/EPER supports communities in restoring degraded rangelands, improving water access and combining local knowledge with sustainable land management practices.
👉 Follow this series to learn how pastoralism contributes to climate resilience – and why healthy rangelands matter for people, nature and future generations.
