🐾 Meet Dolly – Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾

Dolly is a young, healthy little girl weighing just 4 kg, with a gentle heart and a love for squeaky toys.

When we first found Dolly, she was curled up and hiding from the world. She had been abandoned, her coat was completely matted, and she was terrified. It was clear that life had not always been kind to her. At the shelter, it took time for her to trust us. She was scared and cautious, showing signs that she had experienced things no dog should have to endure.

Today, Dolly has come a long way. While she is still cautious with new people and needs time to get to know them, once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate. This tiny muscle packet can spring straight onto your lap for cuddles and loves being close to the people she knows.

Dolly walks beautifully on a leash and travels well in the car. She is very gentle and loves the company of other dogs. In fact, she is often the one inviting other dogs to play and is always curious to meet new canine friends.

Her greatest love in life is squeaky toys. Nothing makes her happier than carrying one around and showing it off. She is also a little picky about her food and definitely knows what she likes!

Dolly is looking for a patient and understanding home that will allow her to settle in at her own pace. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, loving companion who has so much affection to give.

After everything she has been through, Dolly deserves a family of her own. Could that be you? ❤️

🐾 Adopt Anxhi 🐾

Anxhi is approximately 3 years old and has spent almost her entire life waiting for a family of her own.

She was found on the streets of Durres as a young puppy. The people who rescued her were unable to keep her, so she came to our shelter, where she grew up alongside the other puppies. Sadly, while many of her friends have found homes, Anxhi is still waiting.

Anxhi is a big, strong girl with a personality to match. She can be a little stubborn and definitely likes to think for herself, but with patience, consistency, and understanding, she has so much potential. She is intelligent, loyal, and would make a fun companion for the right person.

She is social with most other dogs and can walk on a leash. Like many shelter dogs, she would benefit greatly from having someone dedicated to helping her continue to learn and grow.

Unfortunately, Anxhi is already developing problems with her knees. Shelter life is not ideal for a dog with mobility issues, which is why we are urgently hoping to find her a loving home where she can receive the care and support she needs.

After spending nearly her whole life in a shelter, Anxhi deserves the chance to experience what it means to be someone’s beloved dog.

If you think you could give Anxhi the home she has been waiting for, please get in touch.

Fini 🤍
Born 2023 - female - 22kg

Fini is a sensitive, gentle girl who didn’t have the best start in life. She was abandoned in a box with her three siblings at our old shelter, and she has grown up there ever since. Because of this, she doesn’t know much of the world, and new situations can feel scary and overwhelming for her. She will need time, patience, and someone who understands that she has to learn everything step by step.

With new people, Fini can be unsure and will bark at first. She likes to keep a bit of distance until she’s had a chance to sniff and realise you are safe. She has a small fear of men, so she may need a bit more time and gentle introductions to feel comfortable with them. Once she trusts you, she completely changes — she becomes affectionate, loyal, and will happily be by your side. When you’re “her person,” you really have her.

Fini has a calm, friendly energy and lives well with the two male dogs she is currently with. She would do well in a home with another dog, as she is used to having canine company. She does, however, guard her food and toys around other dogs, so this is something that needs to be managed and understood. She also still needs to learn some manners, especially around food time, as she can get a bit pushy and overexcited.

Fini will need some work and training, but she is a very sweet dog with a lot of potential. In the right home, with someone patient and kind, she will grow into a very loyal and easy companion who just needs a bit of time to feel safe.

Alberta ✨
Born 2023 - female - 22kg

Alberta has been part of the shelter story since 2023, when she arrived as one of seven abandoned siblings. While many puppies fade quietly into the background, Alberta made sure she wouldn’t be overlooked. From early on, she showed just how headstrong and clever she is—regularly breaking out of her puppy enclosure to go and spend time with Zari and the other dogs who had been left outside the shelter. Alberta has always known what she wants, and she’s never been afraid to figure out how to get there.

Growing up in the shelter means Alberta hasn’t had the chance to experience much of the outside world yet. But what stands out about her is how she carries herself—calm, steady, and thoughtful. She’s not easily overwhelmed, and that quiet confidence suggests she will take to new things in her own time. In the beginning she will be unsure of everything new but with some patience she will learn to embrace the outside world.

Alberta is wonderfully social. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from having a canine companion in her future home. She’s also comfortable around cats and genuinely enjoys the company of people. She isn’t a high-energy dog; instead, she prefers a slower pace of life. Much of her day is spent napping, conserving her energy for the occasional bursts of playfulness where her fun, cheeky side comes out.

She’s still very much a beginner when it comes to walking on a leash and will need patience and guidance to learn. Because of this, Alberta would thrive in a calmer, more rural environment—somewhere with space, like a garden, where she can simply exist, explore at her own pace, and build her confidence without too much pressure.

Alberta is a dog who doesn’t rush into things, but she’s always watching, always learning. With a bit of time and the right environment, she has all the makings of a wonderfully balanced and loyal companion.

Wilma needs a home urgently 🆘
Female • approx. 3 years • 28 kg

Wilma is a dog you don’t overlook. She is present, attentive, and wants to be part of everything you do.

She is a very quick learner and enjoys working together with her people. Give her structure, clear guidance, and a job, and she will meet you there. She is a dog who wants to understand, to learn, and to be involved. Training with Wilma isn’t a chore — it’s something she actively seeks out.

She likes to be the center of attention and can show jealousy when other dogs receive attention in her presence. Because of this, she needs clear boundaries and someone who can guide her calmly and consistently.

Wilma can get along with other dogs, but this depends strongly on the situation and her state of mind. Introductions need to be slow, calm, and controlled. When she was living freely outside the shelter, she had almost no issues with other dogs. The shelter environment has been more challenging for her, and there have been some incidents where she attacked other dogs. Since then, for her safety and the safety of others, she has been living separately and only has contact through the fence.

With people, she shows a completely different side. She loves human interaction and wants to be close.

We are confident that Wilma can become a wonderful companion in the right home. She is looking for an active, experienced household that understands strong-willed breeds like the Rottweiler. Ideally, she would be the only dog in the home, with no cats and no children, so she can settle, decompress, and build a strong, stable bond with her person.

Wilma is not an easy, plug-and-play dog. But in the right hands, she is a very special one.

Sam’s happy end 🩵

We found this guy wondering the streets on the outskirts of Durres. He was starving and friendly.
We immediately sent video and photos of him to our partners in Germany who help us with Boxer cases. They said take him and we will find him a home.

And this is what happened. Sam got to leave Albania in February a start his new life with Sandra in Germany. Sam immediately felt comfortable with Sandra and was walking around the town and house as if he had always been there. He was ready for a new start and for a person to treat him with love and respect 🥹 we don’t know what Sam went through before we found him but we assume it wasn’t all good.

What we hear from Germany is that Sam is mastering long walks in nature, chilling in his cozy bed close to his basket of toys, his training is going super well and his recall os getting stronger everyday. Dog and human interactions are going great, Sam loves playing with other dogs. He loves his new human Sandra and always wants to be close to her.

We are happy that he found his person, who respects and loves him for who he is❤️‍🩹

Thank you 🧡

Rita’s happy end ♥️

In January 2024 we found Rita completely emaciated with an unusable leg, one ear missing and a rope around her neck. She was about 7 months old. She trusted us immediately and we didn’t hesitate to put her in the car and bring her to safety. We did everything to bring her back to health.

She was neutered and had the leg amputated because there was no other option. She gained weight at the shelter because she was a bit of a lazy potato. Although everyone who met her loved her she was never chosen to be adopted.

In July Nadine and Frank who came to volunteer decided she would be one of the dogs to come to their new sanctuary in Germany. She left the shelter in February 2026. She proved herself to be super uncomplicated and lovable. A woman who goes to the sanctuary once per week fell in love with Rita a d decided to take her home.

Now Rita lives with a couple their teenage boy, 2 other dogs, ducks and cats.
She loves playing football and uses her nose and her chest to move the ball. They have bought a ramp for the car so Rita can get in herself. They have also moved their bedroom downstairs because Rita cannot go up the stairs. They say that it feels like they have had Rita for years. She also loves the forests where she often goes for walks. All the activity has made her also lose some weight.

It’s such a great feeling to see Rita thriving in their home. We are so grateful!

We hope that many more of our dogs can experience the love they have for Rita ❤️‍🩹

Thank you 💛

Kalu ✨
male, 3 years old, around 20kg.

He was found as a tiny puppy on the side of the road with his two sisters. They both found homes. Kalu is still here.

He grew up in the shelter, and somehow, he didn’t lose his openness to the world. He’s social, affectionate, and genuinely enjoys being around people — the kind of dog who seeks out contact and leans into you without hesitation.

Kalu is a fun dog to be around. He loves toys, plays a great game of fetch, and has that playful, happy energy that makes you want to engage with him. He’s also smart — the type who picks things up quickly and actually enjoys learning. With a bit of consistency, he’ll thrive.

He walks well on a leash, travels fine in the car, and overall is a very easy companion in the day-to-day. He gets along with most other dogs, but like many males, he’s not comfortable with dominant males and will need mindful introductions.

Outside of the shelter, the world is still quite new to him. He may need a little bit of time to fully settle and understand everything, but when he has been given the chance to go out, he has handled it well. He just needs someone willing to guide him through it.

Kalu would do best with an active person or family who will include him in their life — walks, play, time together. He has so much to give, and he’s been waiting a long time for someone to finally choose him.

Luli 🐻🤎
5 years old - male - 32kg

He was found in a bin on the side of the street.
Hit by a car, covered in mange… just thrown away like he didn’t matter.

We put him back together as best as we could.
Because he was still a puppy, his bones healed — not perfectly, not straight, but enough. Enough for him to run, to jump, to play. And that’s all Luli cares about.

He doesn’t carry what happened to him. He just lives.

Luli is such a loving, funny boy. The kind of dog that makes people smile without trying. He’s affectionate, playful, and social with most other dogs — he especially loves female dogs — and he has a really sweet bond with his cage mate Tommy. They cuddle up together like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

And water… Luli is obsessed.
Any water. Bowls, buckets, puddles. He will dunk his whole head in or lie down in it like it’s a bath. It’s impossible not to laugh when you watch him.

He can walk on a leash and goes in the car without a problem. He’s one of those dogs who is easy to take places, easy to be around… he just fits.

Because of shelter life, he’s a bit overweight. Simply because he doesn’t move as much as he should. This is something so easy to change in a home — walks, routine, just a normal life — and he will thrive.

He’s just a really good dog. One of those dogs that is always there, always happy to see you, never too much… just right.

Luli is getting older now. And after everything he’s been through, we really don’t want him to spend his older years here.

He deserves a home.
A soft place to rest, people of his own, and all the water he could ever dream of.

He really, really does.
