Zurich International School Being a great educator is about striking the perfect balance. It’s a home-away-from-home, that gives them the confidence to go anywhere.

Zurich International School is an inclusive non-profit day school in the Greater Zurich area that delivers comprehensive, bilingual and international educational programs for local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18. At Zurich International School, we believe that the most important thing a child should learn is to love learning. That’s a habit that will stay with them for life, encouraging them to empathize, to go further, and to be open to new things. Our curriculum challenges them to explore and engage with subjects, without extinguishing their spark for learning. We introduce students to a wide range of activities, to help them discover unexpected lifelong passions. We’ve invested in building top-class facilities, and in nurturing a diverse community where students feel they belong.

Navigating post-graduation decisions can feel overwhelming, but real connections can change everything.

At our annual ZIS University Fair, hosted at the Adliswil Campus in partnership with the Council of International Schools (CIS), students in Grades 9-12 had a unique opportunity to connect directly with 120 university representatives. These conversations spark new interests, help students broaden perspectives beyond application requirements, and make informed, confident decisions about their futures by understanding what different future pathways could look like.

Students could explore options with their families, who were also invited to the event, building stronger foundations for the decisions ahead.

The University Fair empowers students to ask questions and discover possibilities with the knowledge, confidence, and support to shape what comes next."

What does it mean to learn with purpose?

Our latest ZIS Voices LIVE event brought together students, alumni, educators, and parents to explore this question and share their perspectives, reflecting ZIS's ongoing commitment to enriching the experience of its community.

The morning was filled with lively discussions, collaboration, and exciting ideas from all who attended. The event concluded with Education Accelerated members and Director Elsa Hernández-Donohue facilitating a collaborative Q&A panel with current students and alumni to share their insights and foster meaningful conversations about the future of learning.

Introducing the Class of 2027!

In August, Grade 12 students traveled to Davos to connect, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories as they began their final year as students at ZIS.

New Learning Spaces: Empowering students to take ownership of their learning.

Every student learns differently. Our new learning spaces embrace that individuality, giving students the flexibility to choose how and where they learn best.

Whether focusing independently, collaborating with peers, or exploring new ideas outside of the classroom, these environments support academic excellence while encouraging students to think critically, build confidence, and take greater ownership of their learning.

Because ultimately, our new learning spaces are about more than design. They're about empowering every student to learn, grow, and thrive.

Last week, Dr. Xavier Barcons visited ZIS to give a talk to students, community members, and guests about astronomy and new telescope technology, including the European Southern Observatory’s Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). Thank you to Dr. Barcons, Professor Antonio Serrano González, who opened the evening on behalf of the Embassy of Spain, and alumni teacher and John Mattern Award recipient Carmenza Vásquez, who helped plan and organize the event.

It was wonderful to see so many from across the region come together for this event. We are looking forward to hosting more ZISTalks in the coming months.

Learning looks different when the space is designed to inspire it.

Together with multi-award-winning Danish design practice Rosan Bosch Studio, we’re turning our vision for learning into inspiring physical environments.

Their playful, human-centered approach brings together pedagogy, architecture, and design to create spaces that spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, support different ways of learning, and build a stronger sense of community.

Because great learning doesn’t just happen in a classroom. It happens in spaces that invite you to explore, connect, create, and think differently.
