CAS Rebuild Ukraine- making a concrete and sustainable contribution to the reconstruction of Ukraine. 🇺🇦

This project needs a little introduction.
📆On February 25th, 2022, Thomas Rohner, a professor at Bern University of Applied Sciences, made a heartfelt promise to help Ukraine and its people. In a world where many such promises are left unfulfilled, Rohner's actions speak louder than words. Rather than merely expressing solidarity with Ukrainians, he proposed a concrete and effective plan to assist the country and its people.

🇨🇭🇺🇦Supported by his colleagues at the university, CAS Rebuild Ukraine was launched in Switzerland in February 2023. This program provides practice-oriented continuing education to Ukrainian refugees with protected status, Ukrainians residing in Switzerland, aid workers involved in the reconstruction, and members of humanitarian organizations. It empowers participants with construction backgrounds to actively participate in the long-term reconstruction of Ukraine.

🤲🏻This project is an inspiring example of how human solidarity, empathy, and a genuine desire to help can achieve extraordinary things.

💡Turning Challenges into Opportunities

Among the challenges discussed at the Lugano Business Forum 2023, three critical issues took center stage: the lack of investment and funding opportunities, brain drain and talent migration, as well as infrastructure and logistics issues.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Ukraine has been proactively turning the tides in its favor. For instance, the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF) has formed strategic alliances with influential international players such as the European Innovation Council and the European Institute of Innovations and Technologies, opening up new avenues for growth and collaboration. 🌐

In addition, USF has launched a remarkable initiative - the tailor-made dual-use grants program. This program is strategically supporting five crucial industries in Ukraine: Defense, Reconstruction, Healthcare, Education, and Cyber Security. 🛡️🏢💉

According to Evelina Holovanova, Head of the grant program at USF, the key is to empower Ukrainian startups and expand their reach globally. She believes that Ukraine will triumph over all challenges, emerging as a leading technological nation and a global tech hub! 🚀
