Join us on a day in our Aerial Surveillance Project on the Central Mediterranean, Part 2✈️
Once we are airborne, the mission requires constant focus, communication and coordination.
The Central Mediterranean is vast. We may spend hours flying search patterns over the open sea, scanning for vessels, monitoring situations, relaying information and documenting observations while constantly adapting to changing operational conditions.
An essential part of our work is documenting human rights violations committed by state actors and Libyan Militias.
Meanwhile, our ground crew are continuously involved: they maintain communication with coordination centres, rescue assets, partner organisations and media teams, ensuring that information flows safely and reliably.

Begleitenuns durch einen Tag in unserem Luftüberwachungsprojekt im zentralen Mittelmeer, Teil 2.✈️
Sobald wir in der Luft sind, erfordert der Einsatz ständige Konzentration, Kommunikation und Koordination.
Das zentrale Mittelmeer ist riesig. Wir verbringen oft Stunden damit, Suchmuster über dem offenen Meer zu fliegen, nach Schiffen Ausschau zu halten, die Lage zu beobachten, Informationen weiterzugeben und Beobachtungen zu dokumentieren, während wir uns ständig an die sich ändernden Einsatzbedingungen anpassen.
Ein wesentlicher Teil unserer Arbeit besteht darin, Menschenrechtsverletzungen zu dokumentieren, die von staatlichen Akteuren und libyschen Milizen begangen werden.
Währenddessen ist unsere Ground Crew ununterbrochen im Einsatz: Es hält die Kommunikation mit Koordinationszentren, Rettungskräften, Partnerorganisationen und Medienteams aufrecht und sorgt dafür, dass der Informationsfluss sicher und zuverlässig funktioniert.
