Aujourd’hui, nous étions présents à la manifestation nationale en Belgique pour défendre les droits des femmes, lutter contre l’austérité, les restrictions budgétaires dans les soins de santé et les attaques contre les pensions, en Belgique et ailleurs.
En tant qu’acteurs engagés pour l’égalité des chances, il était essentiel pour nous de soutenir une société fondée sur l’égalité, la solidarité, la dignité et le respect des droits fondamentaux.

Today, we took part in the national demonstration in Belgium to defend women’s rights and stand against austerity measures, healthcare budget cuts, and attacks on pensions, in Belgium and elsewhere.
As actors committed to equal opportunities, it was important for us to support a society based on equality, solidarity, dignity, and respect for fundamental rights.

Celebrating solidarity and progress for women in unions ✊

The 27th UNI Asia & Pacific Regional Organization (UNI Apro) Women’s Committee Meeting concluded successfully on 22 April 2026 in Singapore, bringing together women leaders and representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The meeting provided an important platform to exchange experiences, strengthen regional coordination, and advance priorities on gender equality, leadership, and representation within unions.

Participants discussed key challenges facing women workers today, including economic pressures, workplace inequalities, and the need for stronger inclusion in decision-making structures.

The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to building women’s leadership, supporting organizing efforts, and ensuring that gender perspectives remain central to trade union strategies across all sectors.

As we mark the successful conclusion of this meeting, we look forward to continued collaboration and concrete actions that translate commitments into real gains for women workers across the region.
