President Bonsi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Costantini Picardi announced, during a joint press conference, that the Templar Nation "officially recognizes the State of Palestine".
โ€œWe believeโ€ - said the President - โ€œthat the Palestinian people have the right to live in a recognized State, free and independent from any interference. Obviously, we strongly condemn the cowardly atrocities carried out on 7 October 2023 by the Hamas organization against the defenseless Israeli people. The Hamas terrorist group has no right to represent the State of Palestine and we hope that the new Palestinian government, which we hope will arise with democratic elections, will prosecute any terrorist group, including Hamas, and recognize the State of Israelโ€.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs then added: โ€œAs far as Israel is concerned, we strongly condemn Benjamin Netanyahu's government for the massacres carried out in the Gaza strip and we ask the democratic people of Israel to ask for new elections that lead to the recognition of the State of Palestine on the part of Israel to allow Palestinians and Israelis to finally live in peaceโ€.
