A Swiss National MMA Team training session 🇨🇭

On Saturday, September 5th, SMMAF held the first official training session of the Swiss National MMA Team, bringing together athletes from different parts of Switzerland.

The three-hour session combined education, assessment and high-level training. Our athletes were introduced to the national coaching staff, the Federation’s vision and the standards expected at national-team level.

It was a great opportunity to train together, get to know each other and start working towards the World Championships.

Thank you to everyone who was part of the first session. We’re looking forward to the next one. 🥊🇨🇭

🧠 What is the ELO Rating System?

The SMMAF ELO Rating System is a mathematical system designed to rank athletes based on their sporting performance and level of competition.

✅ Your ELO evolves over time.
Every athlete starts with an initial rating, which is updated after every registered match.

✅ Your opponent matters.
The stronger your opponent’s ELO, the greater the potential impact of the result.

✅ The event matters.
Higher-level competitions carry greater weight in the ELO calculation.

This creates a ranking that reflects performance, consistency and sporting merit across Swiss Amateur MMA.

Every fight matters. Every point is earned. Every ranking is deserved.

🇨🇭 Another step forward for a transparent, professional and merit-based future of Amateur MMA in Switzerland.

The rankings are live. Your next fight could change everything. 🥊
